Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 17 U had a nice weekend going 3-1 and despite falling on Sunday, I thought it was Mirgon’s most complete performance of the weekend. A lead guard who takes care of the basketball, sets the table for the offense and makes shots off the catch, Mirgon did all those things in a competitive back and forth contest with Dream Vision. Mirgon also had a post up bucket where he used his physicality and also had some strong box outs. This is the first time Mirgon is playing grassroots against players his own age and he’s finally seeing the benefits of being one of the stronger guards at his age level. Expect mid major programs to make Mirgon a priority this summer.

Mirgon is an elite pass-first playmaking point guard. He can shoot with the best of them and should be one of the top marksmen at the event. Ben currently has several Mid-Major offers. He is absolutely a baller to watch this weekend.

continues to trend up as a rising name in Ohio’s 2027 class and remains Bradley’s most experienced guard. Against Hardin, Mirgon was a constant problem for opposing guards, applying pressure and forcing turnovers while controlling the tempo. He stayed aggressive offensively, consistently attacking the defense and creating opportunities for both himself and teammates. Mirgon knocked down three triples and finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Highlighted by a strong move and finish at the rim.

Hilliard Bradley fought back from an early deficit and took a lead in the second half thanks to the stellar play from Mirgon. Mirgon made multiple 3-pointers in the second half, one from the corner and another from the wing. Mirgon also had a nasty finish where he switched hands in mid-air at the rim and also had a strong drive and finish to tie the game with 30 seconds left. I still have high expectations for Hilliard Bradley this season despite this early season loss and expect the Jags to compete for conference and regional titles.

Maybe the top traditional point guard in Ohio, Mirgon is an elite table setter for his team. Hilliard Bradley is no stranger to having elite guard play and with Mirgon and Kyp Norris Kyp Norris 6'2" | CG Hilliard Bradley | 2028 State OH , the Jags are set up for success. While their slow tempo might limited Mirgon’s counting numbers, his impact will be up there with just about everybody in the state.

You don’t see many 2027 prospects making as big an impact as Mirgon does at the 17 U level on the 3SSB circuit. A steady point guard, you know what you are going to get from him on a game in and game out basis. Mirgon’s ability to knock down open shots, set the table and defend on the perimeter all help you win. Maybe my favorite play of Mirgon this weekend was a slick bounce pass to a big through two defenders outstretched arms. Expect more programs to continue to get involved with Mirgon as he’s already become a big name for regional mid major programs.

Mirgon’s best ability is being a floor general. This is what he was doing at a high level in the game I caught of Hilliard Bradley, and it is just fun to watch. He had complete control of the game and just saw what the defense was going to do before they did it. He knows what he is going to do with the ball before he gets it. His teammates feed off this, and you see this when you see them running harder in transition. With his display of passing, you can see the opportunities for him to score start to open up. He was efficient with his looks and made the simple buckets for himself.

Mirgon is a gritty point guard who excels at scoring the basketball in a plethora of different ways. He has no issues finding teammates for scoring chances of their own. He heard from Liberty, South Carolina, Miami (OH), Brown, Evansville, Furman, Marshall, WKU, Kent State,& Dartmouth, Toledo extended an offer to Mirgon on Monday. I would assume he will be one of the priority in-state point guard recruits in 2027 and many Ohio colleges will try to keep this prospect in state for college.

Mirgon is someone who is going to have a big role this year for Hilliard Bradley and this means he has to score more. This is what I expected when going to the game and Mirgon delivered. He got to the rim well and has a great understanding of patience and footwork. He has a back-to-the-basket game that is rare for his size and position. He did a great job of getting the defense up in the air and getting to the free-throw line. He made difficult shots around the rim with touch. He still shows great point guard ability with a more aggressive scoring mindset. Fun to watch this version of Mirgon.

Mirgon was someone who played on a high-level Hilliard Bradley squad last year and I expect him to take a big step into a bigger role this year. He is a high IQ point guard the play mature beyond his years. He has great poise and pace in his game. He always sees the entire floor. He knows when to just get the offense started and then when to go make plays. I am interested to see him with more of a scoring impact on the game this year.
