Day 11 DeMatha Summer League Standouts

Nate Mccomb is doing as good of a job as anyone at the DMSL raising his stock. Nate has been terrific finishing at the rim, and he has had some outstanding moves from the post. Nate has done a nice job finishing through contact, and he can step out and knock down jump shots, even though that is something he has struggled with a little bit the past week. Nate's effort on the glass is fun to watch, and he was dominant for Lake Braddock in their win over Springbrook. He completely took over the game in the second half, and he finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds.     Another Lake Braddock player who has caught my eye the past week is [player_tooltip player_id='2876284' first='Brook' last='Anteneh']. Brook hasn't shot the ball well from the field, and he has missed some shots that I know he can hit. I loved his effort and passing. He's one of the smallest guys on the court, but he has rebounded the ball effectively, and his ball handling and passing have looked good. Brook is a shot creator and can hit tough shots over defenders. If Brook cleans up his game in terms of shot selection and turnovers, he will be a terrific lead guard. He had 17 points and 8 rebounds against Springbrook.     [player_tooltip player_id='2746662' first='Christian' last='Kennard'] is another player whose jump shot wasn't falling, but he still found ways to score. Christian had a couple of nice finishes in traffic, and he did a nice job finishing through contact. He made the most of his opportunities at the line, and he did a nice job on the glass. He finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds.     [player_tooltip player_id='2629851' first='Jayden' last='Spence'] was on one from wire to wire shooting the ball. Jayden did most of his work off catch and shoot threes, and even though he's undersized, the quickness of his release didn't allow players to bother his shot. Jayden has a high IQ, and you saw that today with him not forcing shots and consistently making the right play. He had 16 points on 1 missed shot and didn't turn the ball over.     Israel Tchoubfong was dominant for Good Counsel. Forest Park didn't have an answer for him, and he was productive on offense from inside and out. Izzy always does a nice job finishing at the rim, but today he stepped out and hit 3 threes. He was impactful defensively, and I think he is turning into the kind of wing a lot of coaches like at the next level. He had 17 points.     [player_tooltip player_id='2552618' first='Dhruv' last='Iyer'] was on one early for Bethel. Dhruv has been making some noise this spring, and I loved what I saw from him today. Dhruv is a natural scorer at all three levels. Dhruv does an amazing job using head and ball fakes to get defenders in the air. He has a great handle and uses it to create space to get jump shots off. Dhruv can knock down shots off the catch at a high clip, and he always does a good job playing with great poise. He had 26 points in another Bethel Academy win.
