-Spence came off the bench in the Xaverian Classic Championship game and immediately got to work– speeding up ballhandlers with excellent defensive footwork and starting off the scoring with a deeeep catch+shoot three that hit nothing but net. Spence also drew a charge that halted the momentum that JR had built up before following it up with a steal and extension lay at the other end. Each of those plays came during a crucial stretch in the game as he gave his team a big boost en route to a Xaverian Classic title.

-Spence is earning more opportunities to see the floor because of his duality as a guard that can set up the offense or knock down shots as an off-ball mover. He has one of the smoothest/most efficient releases in the area and isn’t afraid to let it fly even if he just checked into the game cold off the bench. Really like his confidence shooting the ball from each spot around the arc. He can hit the typical guard shots of the wings and top of the key but he has really emerged as a corner sniper that can make teams pay for turning their back on him while rotating in help defense.

was on one from wire to wire shooting the ball. Jayden did most of his work off catch and shoot threes, and even though he’s undersized, the quickness of his release didn’t allow players to bother his shot. Jayden has a high IQ, and you saw that today with him not forcing shots and consistently making the right play. He had 16 points on 1 missed shot and didn’t turn the ball over.
