It is rankings update time once again. June is our favorite month for evaluation here at Prep Hoops Indiana, and we have already been buying up the pavement seeing as much basketball as we can, but that doesn't mean we can't find time for an important rankings update. However, before we do so, let's take a look at a handful of prospects that we are excited to get deeper evaluations on going forward. We have seen these players play some during their first year in high school, but we are especially excited to make a point of seeing them more going forward. Here are six players that fit that qualification.

There is no doubt that Cardwell is one of the best pure shooter in Indiana's Class of 2028. However, we just haven't been able to get eyes on him much yet for one reason or another. That will need to change in June and July where we will make a point to evaluate this 6'0" guard from Kokomo High School further. He has a lot of potential as a perimeter threat.

We've had the opportunity to see Goodwin some with [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] this summer, but will be anxious to see him compete more with his Hamilton Heights team where he should morph into a varsity role this season. The talented point guard is trustworthy with the ball, plays with a great motor, and flashes some shot-making ability from the perimeter as well.

The strength and physicality of this forward stands out right away. Johnson was able to play his way into a role on South Bend Riley's varsity team because of what he brought to the table around the basket. He carves out space on the glass, finishes at a high level, and can hold his own defensively. It will be interesting to see how he does while taking on a larger role this coming season.

We recently saw Modesitt play with his IE Indy Hoops Gold 15u squad and he went off for 28 points while lighting it up from beyond the arc. The Hamilton Southeastern guard is part of a very talented young core there for the Royals and we are interested to get a better feel for how he stacks up in the pecking order both there and throughout the state in general.

Scheich was one of the standouts at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase last fall. The 6'8" forward from Borden High School did a little bit of everything. He stretched the floor beyond the arc for catch-and-shoot three-point shots, drove and dunked it, and protected the rim defensively. We never saw Borden play in person, but he put up 5.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and just over 2 blocks per game as a freshman. However, we have not tracked him down yet through the spring. It would be nice to evaluate him against some high-level competition.

Thomas had an excellent freshman season averaging 9.1 points per game for the Bruins who feature a very talented young core. It will be good to continue getting a better feel for exactly where he stacks up among the other best point guards in Indiana's Class of 2028. He looked good recently at the IndyStar Indiana All-Star Gameday Shootout when we watched Tri-West play.
