We updated our 2028 rankings yesterday, adding in 26 new names from schools across Maryland and Washington DC for a total of 100 prospects in the sophomore class. We used feedback from conversations with HS and AAU coaches, from film, and from our scouts after being in the gym all season. That full list can be found here. Now let's break down a few of our favorite stockrisers from this most recent rankings update!

-Tarawally has used a productive spring and summer on the UAA circuit to make a name for himself as a consistent scoring guard that can do a ton of damage both on or off the ball. Tarawally excels at creating open space for jumpers by coming off of screens ready to lift up for a jumper but he can also create pull-up jumpers for himself off the bounce on an island. Love the way that he uses his frame to carve out space on his drives to the rim as he is typically able to bully his defender off-balance to create easier looks for himself. Using those paint touches and scoring gravity to his advantage as a passer in the halfcourt will be crucial to his continued ascension.

-Brooks is one of a very small group of players to continue to rise in each iteration of the rankings within his first 12 months as a HS basketball player. Brooks stepped up to the plate to produce at a high level both on or off the ball as a traditional point guard that can also be used to space the floor or attack closeouts or ball screens from the wings. He enjoyed a nice 3-4" growth spurt in the past year and might continue on that trajectory as he begins a new stage in his career transferring into the WCAC to play alongside some high-level talent at McNamara.

-Have come away impressed after watching Amadi play as the feel continues to grow with each viewing. He's athletic, plays with a motor, hits the glass hard, and is understanding how to make his cuts to the basket so that he doesn't cut off a driving lane from a teammate. The spatial awareness and understanding of defensive rotations continues to improve with each viewing. Interested to track his development to see if he trends in the direction of wing or a slashing guard.

-Liked his game during the TTO Memorial Classic as a do-it-all combo guard en route to a bracket championship for the Runnin Mavericks. Smith uses his size well to generate paint touches and usually makes good decisions in traffic because he does a good job of scanning the floor before even catching the basketball. If he can prove that he can guard multiple position groups, he figures to be able to carve himself out a role in a busy Pallotti guard rotation.

-Really dynamic guard off the bounce that demonstrates an ability to break his man down without a ball screen to create advantage situations for his teammates. Quick as a hiccup, Fox sets up his drives to the rim by coming off a screen flat before splitting the double to get downhill before the defense can react for a basket. Fox's ball pressure has been key to allowing Avalon to generate turnovers in their fullcourt and halfcourt pressing schemes, love his ability to generate turnovers without fouling. Fox has the potential to break into our top 25 or so in the class over the next few seasons if the development continues at this trajectory.
