His quick first step allows him to live in the paint. He hit a game winner in one of their games as time expired which showed he has the clutch gene. Merritt showed that he can guard different positions. He does a nice job getting to spots off the bounce and doesn't get sped up. Vick fills the lane in transition and gets rewarded with easy layups. He can shoot over smaller guards. Vick has no issue creating separation off the bounce. His length allows him to congest lanes on defense.
