May 2nd-4th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched almost every team in 17U and 16U and some of the 15U teams to form a good opinion of the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2390211' first='Treydyn' last='Cornelison'] Battle Ground/WA (Pro Tech 16) (Pictured)

A cerebral scoring point guard who can shoot it from mid to the three point line. He plays fundamentally sound defense and rebounds well for a guard. He made some clutch free throws and a three down the stretch combined with some needle threaders for assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2848587' first='Ethan' last='Garber'] Horizon (Peak 16 Regional)

An undersized scoring point guard with a good feel and IQ. He scores with downhill takes with his left hand thru the contact for and-1's, backdoor layups and will rattle in threes. He is a good passer and sees the court well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292818' first='O'mari' last='Gilbert'] Paradise Valley (Peak National 16)

An athletic power forward is a top of the food chain rebounder in his area with two-hands. He will grab the ball at its highest point. He gets a lot of his points off the glass and will dunk the ball easily on the break with quick springs.

Trey Hall SG 6'1 2027 Montezuma-Cortez/CO (The Valley 16-1)

A cerebral scoring guard plays the game with confidence and good sense of awareness. He has a high level mid-range jumper off the dribble and can burst to the basket with a nice handle. He can hit a deep jumper and plays a smart brand of ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2434650' first='Ashton' last='Havvard'] Dysart ([program_tooltip program_id='2144495' first='Team' last='Elevate'] 16)

An active and strong point forward who is a great passer. He is unique where he can make a couple no-look dimes for his position. He has a strong frame to handle the pounding to score on put backs or downhill takes. He does a lot of little things to affect the outcome.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423049' first='Ben' last='Petrick'] Pinnacle (Peak National 16)

A scoring point guard has a quick shooting stroke from the three point line. He will catch and shoot with no wasted movement. He can also ball fake and will go up to score. He will make the extra pass and has a high feel. He keeps the game simple and will shoot it with off the dribble pull-ups off of the pick and roll game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2407205' first='Ja'Mir' last='Smith'] Chandler (Peak National 16)

A supreme athletic power forward. He is a tad raw but you can't teach his college-type of bounce, length, frame and build. He will score it around the basket with his reach around the rim and he is a quick second and third jumper.
