Martinez is a player who stood out for D1 New Mexico on the weekend. He's a very confident player who gets to his spots on the floor, attacks the pick and roll, and he hits shots off of that. He's a lethal mid-range scorer, which opens up the rest of his offense, and then he creatively hits shots or gets others going. There is not a shot that he doesn't like, as he's the team's primary ball handler from the guard spot. He stays on the attack, and when defenses key in on that, he finishes at the rim or makes plays for others. All things start with him, and that was on display. Big weekend for Elijah and it makes sense why he's one of the top players in New Mexico.

Lubash is a player who runs the show for UH Elite Gold, and he got out in transition and made the right plays. He's scrappy, a creative scorer, and against D1 New Mexico, he got it going with some tough finishes around the basket. What I liked about Lubash's game is his decision-making. He had a few passes in the pick-and-roll that got the offense going and made the defense collapse when he attacked. That seems to be where he's at his best, when he gets to attack and read the court, and they should set up more scoring opportunities for him in those sets.

Beckett Jones was a big man for Rise 17U who got whatever it is that he wanted in the paint. He's a very physical big man who wants to punish, and he moved guys around on the block. He backed defenders down, he finished over both shoulders, and got going in half-court sets. He's a battler on the low block, and that translated to defense as well, as he stood out. Jones is a switchable defender despite his size, who defends bigs and steps out onto guards as well. He causes mismatches and was never one, and that stands out to me. He's a player who popped and had some big moments on the weekend. Solid prospect.

Richardson was one of the better shooters on the weekend, and in the moments that we saw him, he let it fly. He also hit some timely shots that got his team going, and in his game against UH Elite Gold, he secured his team the win with a big 3-pointer later in the game. He wasn't only a shooter, however, on the weekend, as he opened up the defense with his ability to attack in iso, and he had a couple of tough floaters against solid size. His versatility stands out. He put the ball on the floor, attacked off the dribble, and had a few runs by himself that led to timeouts. He's a player who saw his stock rise on the weekend with big performances.

Stacy is a floor spacer for D1 New Mexico and a shooter that teammates believe in. He had multiple shots that they kicked to him and got back on defense because they knew it was going in. He hit shots in bunches, was a guy that teams had to know where he was, and moved without the ball to keep the offense flowing. Not only did he knock down shots, but the timing of his shots mattered. He hit shots when it mattered, to start or slow down runs, and was a shot hunter. He had a weekend worth mentioning.

Johnson was a big-time performer on the weekend for UH Elite 17U Gold and looked like one of the top interior players. He's a tweener who had some high-flying moments. They put him at the dunker spot, and he rose for big-time dunks on multiple occasions. He is a quick leaper who gets inside the paint. He sets hard screens and rolls and is always moving. Johnson had some post-ups on smaller defenders where he finished and did not shy away from contact. He also opened things up as he knocked down some left-handed pull-ups where he faced up at the mid-range and knocked them down. Johnson also stepped out and hit multiple 3-pointers and was in complete control. At our event, he was an elite scorer and game changer, and I really liked his defensive activity as well. He was one of the top players in the gym.

Darby is a player for UH Elite who stood out because of how dangerous he was with the ball in his hands. Teammates gave him the ball and got out of the way as he broke defenders down off the dribble and got to where he wanted on the floor. He has a solid face-up game and could not be contained in the open court. He attacks the rim and was finishing at the basket, extended the defense for a couple of deep shots, but made it a point to attack the mismatch and challenge bigs at the rim. He was one of the better finishers at the basket on the day and helped his team compete.
