The size of Hoop Nation was a major factor and Ursey Martin used that to grab a handful of offensive rebounds for extra shot opportunities for his team. His height also gives him long strides which allowed him to get behind the defense and finish uncontested on the fast break. The highest of the game came when Ursey Martin came down the lane and threw down a big time slam dunk to cap off a dominant win for his team.

Another player with size and athleticism on Hoop Nation, Dawson-Walker played aggressively and showed off his bounce with a couple of above the rim finishes on layups. His most impressive play came on a drive where he took contact and finished on balance off a spin move. Another Toledo area name to watch in 2027 standing out on the prep hoops circuit.

I loved the motor Pfaucht played with defensively as his active hands caused a handful of turnovers. Offensively, Pfaucht had a floater in transition and a rip and go move where he got to the rim. In the closing moments of the game he also knocked down a 3-pointer.

A high upside prospect, Weiland checks the boxes you look for in stretch forwards both physically and skill wise. A fluid mover for his size, Weiland can play on the perimeter on both ends by attacking closeouts and switching onto guards defensively. Combine those skills with a couple dunks in the half-court and a smooth looking jumper and I expect Weiland's recruitment to spike with Nova Village this summer.

A high level athlete on the wing, McGuinea was flying on the fast break with a couple thunderous slam dunks. With a strong frame and good athleticism as well, McGuinea has the physical ability to be an impact defender and forced a couple of turnovers on Friday night. That strength also allowed him to power through a defender in the paint for an easy layup. Versatile athlete who checks a lot of boxes, McGuinea is a valuable piece at both the high school and grassroots level.

I was pleasantly surprised by the offensive ability Mburugu showed on Friday with a tough step back 3-pointer late in the game really catching my eyes. With his physical upside and ability to fly around the court in a run and jump full court pressure defense, Mburugu was making an impact on both ends. Name to watch in the Columbus city league the next 2 years.

Matis was a lefty guard who made shots on the perimeter and did a nice job of handling defensive pressure that was thrown his way. I thought as a team the Midwest stars did a nice job of moving the ball and getting open shots.
