We wanted to start off by highlighting the rising senior class as they head into their last year of AAU basketball. To highlight some of those hidden gems, we will highlight several guys outside of our top 40 (or right on the line) that our staff thinks could make a big leap this summer. He continues to improve his processing in ball screens and is understanding when he needs to score and when he needs to distribute. A prolific scorer in the halfcourt, I really loved watching his creativitiy when his defender ostensibly had him in a bad spot to see how Walker would utilize a spin, hesi, hang dribble, or up fake to get to his spots with ease. The midrange jumper is pretty automatic and he can score over a variety of defenders with pretty limited air space. You couldn't catch this man in a phone booth. Legree utilizes a tight handle to make quick reads off the fly based off ball screen coverages. He can fill it up from beyond the arc, gets to the FT line, and can stop n pop with the best of them from the elbow. Hopes is picking his spots to make timely, aggressive drives to the rim before the help can arrive to open up space for his shooters. He's worked hard to make the outside jumper more consistent and converts well from the line. Busse shoots it really well coming off of screens or movement, making several tweaks to his footwork that allows him to get his jumper off more fluidly from all 3 levels. While he can shoot it with the best of them, he's beginning to see opportunities to attack closeouts and get into gaps in the defense to force rotations and create advantage situations for his team. Williams earned extended run in an in-season tournament and impressed with his ability to lead the troops at both ends of the floor. McGlone excels at breaking his matchup down off the bounce and squeezing through gaps in the defense to finish at the rim. His ability to finish with either hand opens up his jump shooting from the perimeter as opponents have to respect his ability to drive to the cup.
