Another prospect who vaulted into the top-20 was Lyons, who is coming off a productive summer with New World on the 3SSB circuit. Lyons’ rise really began in June during the scholastic live period where his dynamic playmaking and ability to score it from all three levels within the flow took centerstage. As a result, Lyons’ recruitment picked up, but the 6-foot-1 guard made a sound decision in closing things early after an official visit to Old Dominion where he committed to head coach Mike Jones and the Monarchs. Lyons jumped from 24 to No. 19 overall.

Lyons announced his commitment to Old Dominion on Sunday while on his official visit over the weekend. Former DeMatha head coach Mike Jones utilized his connections and deep knowledge that he has for the DMV area to dip in and earn the pledge from one of the bigger stock-rising guards this summer. Lyons is a dynamic, crafty on-ball threat who is just scratching the surface of who he can become in the long-term. At Clinton Grace, he shares the backcourt duties with his brother, J’Lon, and is largely featured as an off-ball guard, where he’s shown his worth in that sense as well as a spot-up shooter.

Lyons was one of the bigger stock risers in the 2026 DMV class thanks to his play throughout the June scholastic live period. His dynamism and ability to play either on or off the ball elevated his name onto the radars of Division I programs. He shares the backcourt duties with his brother, J’Lon, a highly-sought after 2027 point guard with national interest, but does so with efficiency and productivity in a multitude of ways. Lyons’ crafty, high-level processing ability on the ball alongside the athletic, talented names on the Clinton Grace roster should result in plenty of highlight reel material for those on the baseline.

CJ has put on all summer for the red-hot Clinton Grace Christian Eagles. He has had numerous games of scoring over 15+ points and making it look very easy. Been very decisive with the ball and protecting it well while distributing it all around. Electrifying jumpshot that has been on target from deep or a couple steps in. CJ is reading the defense well now as he and his team look to be the ones to beat heading into the new year. CJ and the Eagles have absolutely dominated early on this summer and there are no looks of momentum slowing down anytime soon. The offers will continue to flood in for the rising senior with this high-level play.

CJ showed why his stock continues to rise as he enters his senior year. Started off the game hot and it continued through the night. He drilled a handful of three-pointers in a tight game vs Gillion. Showed again he can play in a high intensity game and remain a major player. Always keeps his head up on the floor and finds his teammates when their open while he’s on the ball. As a rising senior, CJ should see a lot of scouts heading his way as we anticipate a highly productive season.

-One of our potential stockrisers from before the live period began, Lyons put on a show (especially on Sunday) at DMV Live 1 to earn his first offer from Old Dominion. The senior point guard showed great burst in getting to the rims from the wing with regularity, hit perimeter jumpers, and dazzled college coaches on the sideline with his passing ability–both from a standstill and off the bounce. His speed and quickness really sets him apart as a prospect that can play both ends of the floor and impact winning without dominating the ball.

-A point guard prospect that has intrigued a lot of college coaches with his play during the last HS season and with his AAU team, I think he’ll catch his first offer as a flashy point guard prospect that is pretty effective on the ball. The handle has improved to allow him to execute different advanced passing reads off the bounce or from a standstill. If he is able to show the distributing ability with some consistent outside scoring, I expect college coaches to flip from on the fence to a scholarship offer.

CJ has been known for his combo ability coming into the summer, and it seems he has improved tremendously with his game control and decision making offensively. He’s spent the last few weeks showcasing his point guard skills mixed with some nice scoring plays. Had a near double-double in his Summer Madness League win vs Sidwell. Set his teammates up all game long and sank a few 3-pointers in the process. CJ had a possession where came up the floor with a set play and switched the play after reading the defense. The team ran the play and CJ assisted a 3pt shot.

-Lyons is a dynamic, flashy guard that fares well both on or off the ball that is a really safe bet to have a stock-rising summer that builds some momentum heading into his senior year. He continues to improve his processing in ball screens and is understanding when he needs to score and when he needs to distribute. With a deep bag of dribble and finishing moves at his disposal, I would expect national scouts and college coaches to begin to appreciate his potential.

The older brother CJ is a standout basketball player recognized for his exceptional court vision and defensive prowess. As a solid player who sees the floor well, CJ’s ability to be menacing on the ball makes him a formidable defender. Despite a challenging performance in the Championship game, where he struggled with his shooting, going 0-6 from the 3-point line and 2-11 from the field, CJ’s overall talent and potential remain evident. Known for his 3-point shooting abilities, this off night does not overshadow his capabilities or future prospects. CJ is considered a legitimate Division 1 prospect, with a promising future ahead. His skills and potential will undoubtedly attract the attention of college scouts and coaches during the upcoming spring and summer seasons, where he is expected to showcase his talents and continue to grow as a player.
