I havewritten about “Meach” numerous times on this site as in addition to being extraordinarily talented, he is the highest IQ point guard in the state. Still, I did not know this elite floor general was capable of the explosive scoring performances like the one he put on Thursday at the Donofrio Classic. Last night Meachem poured in an astounding 43 points as he and [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] took home the Donofrio hardware. To be honest Meachem put on one of the most incredible off the dribble scoring nights I have seen in years. Meachem displayed a deep bag of dribble moves as he got into the lane often (an understatement) for lay-ins, floaters, runners, and difficult bank shots. He also got into the painted area, slammed on the breaks, and then executed smooth pull-ups or fadeaways. Meachem got buckets in transition too, repeatedly converting at the rim through contact. He splashed one or two threes as well. When Meachem was double teamed, he did a solid job of moving the ball to open teammates – 10 assists (unofficially). Plus, he generated a few steals. Obviously Meachem (Bucknell commit) was the MVP of this game.

Riding shotgun with Meachem was this wiry and agile stretch-4 prospect who scored at all three levels. On Thursday night Booker posted 22 points as he displayed the versatility that landed him a scholarship to George Mason. Booker impressed with his rim-to-rim speed. He easily kept pace in this up-tempo contest and capped fast breaks with finishes in traffic. On half-court possessions, Booker popped jumpers and scored on slashes to the basket as well as via the offensive glass. At the other end of the court, Booker blocked a few shots and pulled in tough rebounds.

The 2024-25 Philadelphia Catholic League MVP did all he could to counter Meachem's jaw dropping performance as Ellerbee dropped 23 points of his own for Team Awesome. Ellerbee got downhill in transition as well as in the half-court for lay-ups or bunnies. He frequently converted in traffic with reverses or scoops off the glass. Ellerbee's jump shot was clicking too as he drained mid-range jumpers and threes. This FGCU commit also pushed the rock on the fast break for scores and assists.

Stewart contributed 9 points to [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite']'s victory, but more importantly he was the only non-senior prospect who did not appear overwhelmed by the intensity of this championship contest at the Donofrio Classic. Stewart is a long, athletic, and quick perimeter prospect. Those assets combined with his finishing skill enabled Stewart to score in transition. He also produced point by diving or cutting to the cup. Stewart flashed an accurate jumper too. His rebounding and switchable defensive presence were also keys to K-Low's win. College coaches will love his previously mentioned poise and basketball IQ.
