Herring is an incredibly explosive athlete that can race it up the floor in transition, collected several apex blocks as an off-ball defender, and punished the rim with two or one-handed spikes. The handle is advanced and allows him to stop on a dime even at top speed to deliver an on-balance jumper from all three levels. The finishing package around the rim allowed him to score over or around defenders around the basket. Defensively he is a matchup nightmare that uses his quickness to jump passing lanes or blitz ballhandlers to turn his opponent over. Donald put a ton of pressure on the rim throughout the contest and was constantly forcing help rotations that freed up his teammates for open looks around the basket and on the perimeter. The handle is good enough to take advantage of his long strides and even when he missed around the basket he always had the quickness/second jump to stick the putback. Had some good moments scoring in bunches to bring his team back throughout the game, allowing his drives to the paint to open up the space to get off perimeter jumpers in the second half.
