On April 5th I attended the annual Arizona Club Basketball League at ALA West Foothills. I watched six games with 8 different teams locally plus a California team.

Here were the 2027 Guard Standouts I viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='2396138' first='Rashad' last='Ortiz'] Palo Verde (Team RHJ 16) (Pictured)

A quickly growing scoring guard grew maybe two inches since my last viewing. He will score with downhill takes in traffic with a straight line drive. He is becoming a knockdown catch three point shooter and will rattle them in quickly. He is also hyper athletic and one of the top high jumpers in the state in track and field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146239' first='Carsyn' last='Dean'] Ironwood (Valid Kixx 16)

A bigger scoring guard plays off the pick and roll game and he is handling it more and more and can make a play. He has deep three point range with a quick release and he gets hot in a blink of an eye. He can throw it down on the break or get downhill with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='2832111' first='DeAmar'e' last='Petty'] Peoria (Valid Kixx 16)

A quick undersized pure point guard may be small but he is a great passer with advanced court vision. He has a tight handle and is trying to make a pass almost every time down the court. He is real patient and he has quick hands and feet. He can score with threes off the catch and is elusive to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432565' first='Amaurie' last='Beausejour'] Desert Mountain (Factory Blue 17)

A versatile scoring lead guard can put points on the board quickly with mid-range jumpers, tough and-1's thru contact, threes off the catch and slick drives after he crosses his opponent over. He is talking more on both sides of the court and he gets many deflections per game with his quick feet and hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2605811' first='Elijah' last='Idlebird-Slaughter'] Carl Hayden (Valid Kixx 16)

A physical two-way player is a natural dimer. He is a strong upper bodied point guard who will rip pockets and take it the other way. He scores with threes and uses a quick burst to the basket thru contact showing his toughness.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956216' first='Kingsley' last='Edwards'] Canyon View (Valid Kixx 16)

A quick on quick scoring lead guard who will also facilitate. He will score with catch threes with a quick trigger, speed dribble drives in traffic and he is very fast on the break. He is a good passer with live dribble passes straight into a shooting pocket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2257790' first='Nicholas' last='Topolosek'] Liberty (AZ Grind)

A walking bucket with some athleticism. He is a high level scorer with his tough mid-range pull-ups off the dribble and threes off the catch. He seems to get to his spots at will and will let it fly with ease. He is also good on the break and can finish with his frame and bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='2280207' first='Jackson' last='Moore'] Cienega (Factory Blue 17)

A sturdy framed scoring lead guard will score and make plays. He will hit the three off the catch and he has a nice floater game. He is an advanced passer and will outlet the ball quickly and he will drive and kick it perfectly into a shooting pocket. His defense is stout on the ball and he truly thinks the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2282925' first='Jacob' last='Hunter'] Liberty (Factory Blue 17)

An all-around scoring guard can fill it up. He scored an easy 20 points with mid-range pull-ups, quick drives with and-1's thru the contact, polished floaters in the lane, offensive rebound put backs and deep jumpers. He has a top family of hoopers and he will have a big year next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396139' first='Kristian' last='White'] Palo Verde (Team RHJ 16)

An athletic guard can score and defend. He has active hands and feet with a motor to defend. He rebounds well and makes it tough to score on him. He loves to attack to the basket and slash his way and handles a bump well and can get to the line or score it.
