West Valley Under Classman Season Standouts : F/C

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the 2025-2026 season comes to an end I like to highlight the great year that the young men had in the west valley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the west valley on the rise there are plenty of players I was able to choose from. The talent ranges from nationally ranked 5 stars all the way to completely under the radar talent. Tre took on multiple roles this year for his squad. He was a huge plus on defensive end and was able to match up with some of the best bigs in the state all year long. He was also able to guard wings at a high level and rack up a lot of steals with his long wing span. Tre is a great finisher at the rim and will often dry to dunk on unsuspecting defenders. He has a solid shot and can score when faced with a mismatch. Either at the rim or midrange. He cuts and flashes really well and often gets his shots from playing off ball. He is a plus athlete and a plus defender and will often take the challenge of guarding a bigger player. Mikel put his athletic ability's on display this year and had several dunks down the lane or on the break. He gets down hill with ease and finishes at the rim really well for a smaller wing. He has solid handle and took on more responsibility playing on ball. He has great defensive instincts and gets his hands in passing lanes. He has good feet that allow him to cut off defenders and deny paint touches. Davion really sticks out off ball with constant movement and hard cuts to the bucket. He shot decent from the 3 at 31% on the year. Davion can handle the ball with pressure and create opportunities for himself and teammates. He is at his best from 3 on catch and shoot opportunities. Defensively he is long with good lateral quickness. He took another leap this year with his shot and handle. He can get down hill and punish defenders at the rim. This year there was multiple times he had dunks down the lane. He always drives down hill with a full head of steam. He can post smaller defenders and take advantage of mismatches. His jump shot is starting to come along and will not hesitate to shoot a open jumper. Defensively he gets a lot of weakside blocks and has really good timing. Giovanni was setback with a injury that happened before the season. He had to get his confidence back and eventually did and was a big part of playoff rotation. He has a great handle for his size and a great IQ. He came in and would star in his role and do what was asked of him. He would do a lot of dirty work for his squad by playing passing lanes and rebounding hard. Giovanni will take on a bigger role next year and is projected to take a big leap.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
