We recently updated our class of 2027 rankings, with a lot of new players taking what we often refer to as the “junior jump.” Things have shaken up quite a bit, with over 25 new names being added to the rankings.

Here's a look at part two of the new faces in the sophomore class rankings.

#66) [player_tooltip player_id='2760984' first='Timothy' last='Allen Crank'] | 6'2” SG | John Paul the Great

Allen Crank had a huge season for JPG, emerging as their go-to guy and putting up big numbers on a regular basis for them. The 6'2” off guard is highly skilled as a scorer with the ability to create and score it at multiple levels with ease, he plays with a great motor as a defender and rebounder and he's able to make plays for others too.

#69) [player_tooltip player_id='2815378' first='Trey' last='Lonardo'] | 6'4” SF | George Marshall

Lonardo was a breakout player for Marshall who will likely be their go-to guy as they are graduating many of their top players, and he's an intriguing prospect who could move up this list as time goes on. At 6'4” he has good positional size already and is likely still growing, he can light it up from deep on kick-outs and coming off screens and he's able to post up smaller wings and score it on the block too.

#72) [player_tooltip player_id='2815368' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] | 5'11” PG | Centreville

Davis is emerging as a young guard to keep an eye on in the NOVA public school system, as he had moments this year where he was absolutely fantastic and some very big games for them too. The 5'11” guard oozes toughness with his ability to guard 94 feet and make hustle plays for his team, he's quick off the bounce and able to break down defenses to make plays for himself and others and he can score it in a number of different ways too.

#75) [player_tooltip player_id='2815380' first='Jayden' last='Banks'] | 6'5” SF | Highland School

Banks is a guy who may be too low in his debut, as he was called up from JV halfway through the season for Highland and playing for one of the best teams in the state he wasn't always able to show what he can do for them. However, he has great positional size and is a good athlete who will likely get more explosive with time, he showed he can knock down shots from deep and he showed good toughness and a high motor when he was on the floor.

#78) [player_tooltip player_id='2815342' first='Larry' last='Walker'] | 5'10” PG | Petersburg

While Petersburg may be in the midst of a rebuild, Walker showed he's a player they can rebuild around as he showed moxy and confidence well beyond his years when I watched them play. The 5'10” guard is naturally gifted with a quick first step and a tight and shifty handle that allows him to break down defenders, he scores it well from multiple levels and he is an absolute pest defensively too.

#82) [player_tooltip player_id='2815344' first='Eduardo' last='Marra'] | 6'3” SF | Carmel

Marra is the latest in a number of Italian players to come over and star for Carmel, and he played a major role in them making a run to the VISAA D-III State Championship game this year. The 6'3” wing showed that euro style game you would expect with a great feel and IQ as a passer, he moves very well off the ball to get open, he can score it in a lot of different ways and he understands how to take advantage of mismatches.

#86) [player_tooltip player_id='2460255' first='Kyce' last='Lemon'] | 5'10” PG | Roanoke Catholic

Lemon was part of a very talented RC backcourt and was a big part of their run to the VISAA D-III Final Four, and he showed he's the type of guard a lot of coaches would love to have on their team. The 5'10” lead guard handles the ball well and changes speeds, he sees the floor and delivers on point passes, he is a good on ball defender and he can move off the ball where he can knock down open shots and is a good cutter for easy buckets.

#89) Delevan Ferguson | 5'10” SG | Orange County

Ferguson makes his debut in the rankings after a big season for Orange County, and the two sport star who also shines on the football team is a big time athlete in the Charlottesville area. While he's a little undersized he's a walking bucket who can use his speed in transition or in the half court to get to the rim, he shoots it well from deep and can create shots in the midrange and he's a very good defender as well.

#90) [player_tooltip player_id='2371338' first='Gavin' last='Bermudez'] | 5'11” PG | Fairfax

Bermudez rounds out our rankings after a solid season at Fairfax where he carved out a role as a shooter and a playmaker off the bench for them. The 5'11” guard is able to spot up and knock down shots on kick-outs, he can set his feet and make shots on the move, he is shifty and quick off the bounce and he brings great energy on both ends of the floor.
