<p>Our position by position breakdown for the <em>Class of 2025</em> continues today with a look at the <em>Shooting Guards</em>.</p>

<p>As a reminder, we've approached the positional breakdowns in a different way this week. Instead of covering the top ten prospects at a position or randomly selecting ten, we'll instead look to cover a variety of prospects at each level of the rankings.</p>

<p>What that means is, for every 25 spots in the rankings, we'll try to cover a prospect from that position. If no prospect for a position falls within a given 25 spot range, we'll select the closest prospect above or below that range to highlight.</p>

<p>With that being said, here are ten <em>Shotting Guards</em> of note from our latest rankings update.</p>

<p><strong><em>1-25: [player_tooltip player_id='1532431' first='Barrett' last='Loer'] (#12)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>St. George's</em>, Loer is a versatile wing that plays with loads of athleticism and a high level of skill. He's a gifted shooter that makes shots from behind the arc, in both catch and shoot situations and off the bounce. He's a tough cover with the ball in his hands, especially when he gets downhill, showing that he can score with creativity or athleticism and power at the rim. Defensively, he guards up and down a lineup and can really go get the ball off the defensive glass. He will continue playing at <strong><em>Rhode Island</em></strong>.</p>

<p><strong><em>26-50: [player_tooltip player_id='1532413' first='Xavier' last='Abreu'] (#26)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Phillips Andover Academy</em>, Abreu is a terrific athlete that has really developed as an all-around scorer. He does a nice job of playing at different speeds, has exceptionally good footworker, and knows how to get into his shot off the bounce. He has good size and quickness, both of which allow him to thrive in the open floor, offensively and defensively. He can guard the ball in space, creates plenty of steals and deflections, and can really get up the floor in transition. He'll continue his basketball career at <em><strong>Northeastern</strong></em>.</p>

<p><strong><em>51-75: [player_tooltip player_id='2634124' first='Wilkin' last='Paulino'] (#53)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Proctor Academy</em>, Paulino is an explosive athlete that punishes the rim every chance he gets. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and loads of intensity, making loud plays all over the floor. His anticpation skills defensively lead to plenty of steals and deflections, and in turn, easy offense on the other end of the floor. He moves well without the basketball, cuts hard to the rim, and finishes in a variety of ways in the paint. He's also a consistent perimeter shooter that can get hot in a hurry from behind the arc. He will play next year at<strong><em> Albany</em></strong>.</p>

<p><strong><em>76-100: [player_tooltip player_id='1411675' first='David' last='Johnson'] (#95)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Bridgeport Prep</em>, Johnson is a crafty scorer and playmaker that can take over games by getting into the paint. His ability to make plays with a live dribble stands out, as he does a great job of beating the initial defender and drawing the help. Once he gets a piece of the paint, he's able to finish over size with floaters or find his teammates for easy scoring opportunities. Defensively, he moves well laterally and can really defend the ball, causing havoc for opponents. He remains <strong><em>uncommitted</em></strong> at this point in time.</p>

<p><strong><em>101-125: [player_tooltip player_id='2325737' first='Robby' last='Fiore'] (#117)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Rivers School</em>, Fiore is another guard that impacts the game as a three level scorer. He's incredibly quick getting into his jumper in catch and shoot situations and is a threat to score as soon as he steps over half-court. He's a capable ball-handler and decision maker that leverages his shooting to open up driving lanes, where he can finish with athleticism at the rim. Defensively, he can guard up and down a position and has shown the ability to rebound at a high level from the guard spot. He will head to <strong><em>Babson</em></strong> in the fall.</p>

<p><strong><em>126-150: [player_tooltip player_id='2811240' first='Isaiah' last='Hynson'] (#128)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Bridgton Academy</em>, Hynson is a big, physical guard that can operate as an on-ball facilitator or off-ball scorer. When he has the ball in his hands he does a nice job of using his strength to play through contact in the paint, while also showing the ability to get by defenders with a quick first step. He's a scorer in the mid-range and from behind the arc, showing a nice lefty stroke and the ability to consistently make shots. He guards with physicality, good instincts, and impressive athletic traits. He is still an <strong><em>uncommitted</em></strong> prospect.</p>

<p><strong><em>151-175: [player_tooltip player_id='2325889' first='Neo' last='Franco'] (#151)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Pomfret School</em>, Franco is a knockdown shooter, willing ball mover, and high IQ decision maker. The lefty does a nice job of moving without the basketball, running off screens to get open and quickly getting into his shot. He has deep range on his jumper and can make them in bunches when he gets hot. He's a solid straight line driver that can finish with strength at the rim. On the other end of the floor, he fights through screens and makes instinctive plays in pasisng lanes. He remains <strong><em>uncommitted</em></strong> as of today.</p>

<p>A product of <em>Hotchkiss School</em>, Varin is a big, long, left-handed guard that can really shoot the basketball. He moves well off the ball and does a nice job of sliding into passing windows. He gets square on the catch and consistently plays on balance, allowing him to always be shot ready. He can attack bad closeouts and uses his length to his advantage as a finisher. Defensively, he knows how to play to his strengths and can impact the game as an on ball defender or by making plays off the ball. He will continue his career at <strong><em>Bowdoin</em></strong>.</p>

<p>A product of <em>Suffield Academy</em>, Lemmond is a versatile scorer that also makes plays as an offensive initiator in the half-court. He's another guard that can really shoot the basketball and impresses with his effort while running the floor, allowing him to get ahead of the defense and get shot ready early. He's not afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim and if he isn't finishing, he's shown the ability to make some good passes on the move. Defensively, he guards multiple positions and rebounds in space. He is an <strong><em>uncommitted</em></strong> prospect.</p>

<p><strong><em>226-250: [player_tooltip player_id='1407081' first='Evan' last='O'Reilly'] (#232)</em></strong></p>

<p>A product of <em>Cheshire Academy</em>, O'Reilly is, above all else, a scorer. He proved this winter to be a true three level guy, showing comfort getting into his mid-range game off the bounce and in making shots in catch and shoot situations. He can handle the ball and makes good decisions when playing in ball screens, often turning the corner and drawing extra defenders. On the other end of the floor, he works hard to keep the ball in front of him, knows where to be in help situations, and can rebound in space. He is currently <strong><em>uncommitted</em></strong>.</p>
