Division 3 Region 11 Regional Semifinals Standouts

Lousiville got the hard-fought overtime win over Columbus DeSales 51-46 followed by an impressive dominating win from Bishop Hartley 80-48. This article will cover the standouts from these games. He is a big kid and wants to be big. He is strong and wants to dominate you in the game. He loves to get to his right and he won't be stopped from getting to it. He draws a ton of fouls. He is a strong and physical kid. But he is modern because he can stretch the floor and beat you off the dribble. He is a great playmaker in the post and from the perimeter. He was helping Louisville beat the full-court zone of DeSales in the first half.&nbsp; He sees the floor well and is used to being doubled. He makes the right passes when he is doubled. He is a leader as well. He was able to make everyone on his team get going with his ability to share the ball. He broke down and got by his defender easily and then made the right read to score it or dish it. He plays with such calmness and confidence. He shot the ball well. Truly did whatever he wanted to do. He was great on the defensive end as well. This kid is as tough as nails and plays hard. He does what it takes to win games. He is very selfless. He showed off the ability to create buckets from himself consistently in this one. When DeSales' offense stagnated he was able to go get a bucket for himself. He was being face-guarded the whole game, so it was tough for him to get space, but he did when he needed to. Including a three-point shot to tie it up in regulation coming off 2 off-ball screens. He has a hip swivel off the dribble pull-up that is deadly with the rhythm he creates for himself. He brings a confidence and swagger to him. By the way, he moves on the floor this energy is contagious to his teammates. He is a competitor. The ball does not stick to his hands. He broke the full-court zone easily with his IQ and passing. He gets it out and the ball moves to teammates. He knocked down multiple threes in the game. He never forced anything scoring-wise. I always find myself extremely impressed with young point guards who play with such maturity. This was the case with Haney tonight. He plays a fast but controlled pace. Gets to the rim well with his change of direction but always keeps his head up. His court vision is really good. He found an open teammate, even at the last second. He plays so hard. His motor is incredible as he had multiple effort plays. He was in a zone tonight and knocked down multiple threes in the first half. He did a great job of finding the open space when the guards were driving. He did good at relocating, getting his feet set, and knocking down the shot. I also liked that he did not settle. He did not float to the three-point line in transition. He cut to the rim and finished. He is a shift and quick play that attacks your top foot well. He makes you flip your hips and then blows by you. He has some good acrobatic moves when going to the rim. You sort of lose him in the middle of traffic and then see his arm pop out the other end finishing the lay.
