It is a very busy time of year here at Prep Hoops Indiana headquarters. Not only are we providing wall-to-wall coverage of the IHSAA State Tournament, but we are also in the middle of updating all of our prospect rankings. Last week, we released our initial Top 25 prospects in the Class of 2028. Then, on Tuesday, we updated and expanded our Class of 2027 prospect rankings. As always, we will spend the week diving deeper into those rankings highlight some of the stock-risers, new names, and much more. Here are six prospects who saw the biggest jump in this rankings release.

Baskerville II has really emerged as one of the top players in the Fort Wayne area in the Class of 2027. He led New Haven High School in scoring this season at 13.3 points per game. The 6'0" guard also serves as a primary playmaker and on-ball defender for Bulldogs. His two-way ability in the backcourt helped him jump into our Top 50 at #49.

We had the opportunity to get eyes on this prospect not too long ago when we travelled to Bloomington High School South to watch the Panthers take on Northview. Combs really popped in that game showcasing his fluid mobility and skill level as a 6'5"-6'6" sophomore forward. His best basketball is still ahead of him.

When you are already a Top 25 prospect there isn't a ton of room to improve, but this talented guard from Bloomington High School North jumped from #21 to #14 in our Class of 2027 prospect rankings. Cross Jr. averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. What we continue to like most about his game is his shot-making. The 6'3" guard was 49-127 (38.6%) from three-point range this season.

We always emphasize the fact that we are rankings PROSPECTS not PRODUCTION. However, it is hard to argue with the consistent production of this 6'2" guard from LaPorte High School. He averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game this season. Ott-Large's size in the backcourt and high-level playmaking skills are what led him to a 12 spot jump from #38 to #26 in our rankings.

There is a lot to like about this Floyd Central High School prospect. Reed has good positional size on the perimeter at 6'3" and has really solidified himself as one of the top scorers and pure shooters in southern Indiana. This past season Reed averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting an impressive 62-178 (34.8%) from three-point range.

Mt. Vernon (Fortville) has battled injuries throughout the season, but have fought their way to the Regional round after defeating Greenfield-Central in double overtime to cut down the Sectional 9 nets. Vise, coming off of a strong summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit, was thrust into a larger role this season and more than held his own. The 6'6" sophomore averaged 8.0 points and 3.5 rebonds per game for the Marauders.
