Just like with 3A, I'm going to analyze the eight 4A sectional champions in this article. The 4A tournament so far has been pretty hectic. Featuring lots of close calls and several big time upsets.

Quincy

Preseason Rank: 9

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 3

Quincy is a team I'm very excited about because this has been the year they've been building for. I actually had them ranked higher in the preseason ranks but other PH scouts disagree. Currently sitting at 31-3, Quincy has been one of the most consistent teams in Illinois this season. Quincy has three 2025 players ranked in the top 50 and two more in the top 150. Santa Clara committee [player_tooltip player_id='1385298' first='Bradley' last='Longcor'] leads the way.

Benet

Preseason Rank: 3

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 6

The drop-off from 3 to 6 should not fool you. Benet has arguably been the hottest team in Illinois over the past month. Winning every game by at least eight points with some big double-digit wins over DePaul and Waubonsie Valley in the process. Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1598658' first='Blake' last='Fagbemi'] is the heart and soul of this squad. 7'0" C [player_tooltip player_id='2105376' first='Colin' last='Stack'] is a nightmare for anyone down low. Fellow junior [player_tooltip player_id='2105390' first='Jayden' last='Wright'] has been as elite as it gets in the backcourt. So much upside in this group that could be the preseason #1 next year.

Glenbard West

Preseason Rank: NR

Pre-Playoff Rank: NR

Their first super-sectional appearance since the legendary 2022 season. Glenbard West has had a roller-coaster season this far and were in our rankings for a decent amount of time. [player_tooltip player_id='1552441' first='Josh' last='Abushanab']'s transfer has been a major factor to the Hilltoppers success this season and he's shown can get it done in so many ways. Fellow 2026 Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1552408' first='TJ' last='Williams'] is an elite level scorer and difference maker on the court.

Evanston

Preseason Rank: 34

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 20

The Wildkits have had one of most impressive roads to get to this point. Recently getting past Loyola and Lane Tech in the sectionals by double digits each. Also getting past some difficult opponents in the CSL to win a CSL south championship. A group of dynamic guards in [player_tooltip player_id='2321433' first='Theo' last='Rocca'], [player_tooltip player_id='2540157' first='Vito' last='Rocca'], [player_tooltip player_id='2531970' first='Ben' last='Ojala'], and Kaiden Chatham can make it a challenge for anyone on any given night.

Kenwood

Preseason Rank: 11

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 1

The 31-1 Broncos have been the most efficient team in Illinois all season. But they survived a real scare vs Simeon after being down 17 at one point in the game last Tuesday. Followed it up with a gritty 69-65 win vs Curie. [player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] is one of the best prospects in the country and continues to show that on a nightly basis. As good as Kenwood has been, their road to the state championship won't be easy.

Rich Township

Preseason Rank: 14

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 17

The Raptors undoubtedly have the talent to make a run downstate. While they've had a couple bad losses, their wins have been more immaculate. Knocking off a pair of top-10 teams in their sectional in Marist and Homewood-Flossmor. While also giving Kenwood their lone loss of the season. [player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks']'s transfer has been a difference-maker this season as he leads the team in scoring, rebounds, steals, and blocks. 2026 PG Jason Coulter remains an x-factor.

Rolling Meadows

Preseason Rank: 35

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 26

This is a team I've overlooked all season. The MSL champs have lost just one game since January 23rd. This is also a group that features the top prospect in 2025, [player_tooltip player_id='1385299' first='Ian' last='Miletic']. Miletic is headed to Marquette next season. But he's got some unfinished business on the High School court beforehand. Milletic scored 37 points in the sectional semifinal over Stevenson. Getting past them in a thrilling OT match.

Warren

Preseason Rank: 5

Pre-Playoffs Rank: 23

A lot of teams have been on roller coasters this season. But none as big as Warren. The Blue Devils began the season ranked 5th in Illinois before losses to Waukegan and Kenwood pushed them down. Then they moved up again after winning the Proviso West Championship. But an 11-8 regular season run since the beginning of January gave them a low rank yet again. But now things are going well. Getting their revenge on Waukegan in a 2OT thriller Friday evening.
