The 2024-25 SCHSL State Championships began on February 27th and continued through March 8th at the Florence Center in Florence, South Carolina. This was a great opportunity to have some of the best the state has to offer under the same roof. The third State Champion crowned was Lancaster High School in Class 4A. Check out my Class 4A All State Championships Team, featuring two players from the State Champion, one from the runner-up, and one from each of the Upper State and Lower State runners-up:

[player_tooltip player_id='1145334' first='Jordan' last='Watford'] (Lancaster) - The state's top Senior went out on top with a State Championship in his final game. Watford put the team on his back for stretches in Florence, averaging 22 PPG across two games. In the championship game, Watford tallied 15 second-half points along with 11 rebounds and 4 assists. He has affected the game in countless ways throughout the season and did just the same when it mattered most. Among the attributes that stood out most on Friday was his ability to play out of his post. Jordan has great size and is a very smart player, so when it was time to battle around the paint he was ready and able to do so.

[player_tooltip player_id='1955613' first='Columbus' last='Parker'] (Lancaster) - Parker has missed a lot of time over the past year through injury, but it's hard to make a case that the Bruins would still be State Champs without him. Despite an unconventional release, Parker is one of South Carolina's premiere perimeter shooters and he proved it with three threes in the State Championship Game. Columbus showed more than just scoring, though. He also made plays off the dribble and was a weapon in Lancaster's transition offense, racking up 28 points in two games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157438' first='Daron' last='Dunbar'] (North Augusta) - Daron did all he could to help lead the Yellow Jackets to glory in Florence and leaves as one of the most accomplished players in school history. While at the State Championships, Dunbar put up a game-high 15 points against Wilson, followed by a 16-point, 11-rebound, double-double against Lancaster. He is an elite mid-range scorer, has a college ready-frame, and can make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1149789' first='Tristan' last='Thompson'] (Wilson) - Thompson had a solid game despite the semifinal loss for the Wilson Tigers, who made the shortest journey of any team to the Florence Center. He led Wilson with 11 points, using his handle, feel, and size to get to the bucket. Tristan always battles hard on the defensive end and rebounds at a high rate as well. Thompson's athleticism and versatility could allow him to see the floor from day one when he enrolls at Coastal Carolina for the 2025-26 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1543950' first='Brock' last='Cherry'] (Wren) - The Hurricanes were on the wrong end of some foul trouble for most of their only contest, meaning Brock had to carry more of the scoring load than usual. This is something Cherry has shown he is capable of throughout his career, but 20 points in the Upper State Championship Game is still a remarkable effort. He can be effective in a fast-paced game or in a slower, half-court setting because of his positional size and playmaking ability. Brock displayed good vision, an ability to finish with either hand, and turned defense into offense in the loss to North Augusta.
