Biggest Standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='1972149' first='Will' last='Swann'] (Daniel) - [player_tooltip player_id='1972149' first='Will' last='Swann'] was an integral part of Daniel's Round One win over Westside. Swann did all of the typical "glue guy" things like apply ball pressure, force turnovers, make smart passes, and score the ball when asked to. Will also happens to be a terrific perimeter shooter and he hit a massive three midway through overtime to put his team up four. In the win, Swann racked up 10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524086' first='Tristyn' last='Carrington'] (Daniel) - The Lions' best player also stepped up with the season on the line. Tristyn had a game-high 21 points to go with 4 assists and 2 steals. In the early stages of the game, Carrington fulfilled his role as a facilitator because of how Westside was matched up with him. However, as the game went on, he became much more effective as a scorer as the Rams adjusted their defense. He used his strength to battle through contact on both ends of the floor - being a physical point of attack defender and finishing through contact for several crunchtime buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2550966' first='Jonovan' last='Webb'] (Westside) - Like Swann, Webb might not have had the biggest night statistically but his team would not have been in the game without him. He helped turn around a sluggish Westside offense in the second half and gave them an extra scorer in unscripted plays. Jonovan was especially impressive with his body control in attack mode and his hands in blowing up handoffs and picking pockets. The Junior tallied 10 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals in the season-ending loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='2469371' first='Isaiah' last='Oree'] (Brookland-Cayce) - [player_tooltip player_id='2469371' first='Isaiah' last='Oree'] led the way with 22 points in Brookland-Cayce's round one win over Midland Valley. Although he wasn't the primary defender on the Mustangs' number one option, Oree did pick him up a few times and forced a pair of turnovers along with multiple contested shots. However, it was Isaiah's offensive explosion that I left most impressed with. He displayed an ability to penetrate going left or right and creatively finish in the paint around and over rim protection. Oree also stood out with his jump shooting - particularly with a spot-up three and a tough pull-up in the mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2469374' first='AJ' last='Edwards'] (Brookland-Cayce) - Edwards is a very important piece to the Bearcats and he impressed me both times I've watched them this season. He had 24 points with 5 3PM in December and followed it up with a 12-point 11-rebound double-double on Monday against Midland Valley. AJ is a prolific perimeter shooter - particularly from the corners - and connected on 3 straight attempts from behind the arc in this game. He also chipped in with effort on the glass and used his length to force a couple of turnovers in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896360' first='Aaron' last='Adams'] (Midland Valley) - Aaron is a Junior big who had a big day for the Mustangs in this matchup. He feasted on both ends of the paint putting up 13 points and 19 rebounds while also being an impactful defender with 3 blocks and 2 steals. The lefty forward was a pest on the glass, frequently earning second and third chances on the offensive glass. Adams was not shy to get on the floor or chase down long rebounds, either. He could use some development with his finishing, but Aaron did show flashes of finishing through fouls and around traffic.
