District 15 had some entertaining semifinal matchups. On 1 side of the bracket, Ann Arbor Huron defeated Dexter and took a step closer to their goal of reaching the Breslin Center for the second year in a row. On the other side of the draw, 2 Ann Arbor schools, Pioneer and Skyline, went at it in a rivalry game with everything on the line. Skyline came away with the hard fought victory in a defensive showcase. This sets up the all Ann Arbor final on Friday with Huron taking on Skyline.

We're going to look at the top 15 players from the 2 semifinal games last night. The players will be listed in alphabetical order.

Brown was really solid in the win. He can play effectively as a rim runner, but also showed a mid range game and even hit a catch and shoot 3. Brown cotributed defensively as well, specifically when he hustled back on D and blocked a shot in transition. In a game like this, 1 bucket can be the difference.

DeMerell was once again so steady. In a game with a lot of turnovers, he was the Dreadnaughts steady hand. DeMerell has a pretty shot that she showed off with a couple 3's and an elbow jumper.

Harrison was really strong at the point for Pioneer. He proved to be a willing and strong passer with good vision. Harrison attacked the rim with a low front shoulder and strength that allowed him to finish through the defense. His highlight reel play was a nasty crossover that freed space for a pull up 3.

Winning teams need an Alex Karsch on their team. You can see a love for competition when he plays the game. And it wasn't a 1 night thing, I've seen him bring the same energy to many baseball fields. Karsch made multiple hustle plays throughout the game.

Keefer is a flat out shooter. He looks so comfortable and confident behind the arc. I counted at least 3 triples last night, 2 of the catch and shoot variety. Keefer showed his extended range well beyond the arc when he buried a deep wing triple.

When I watched Krzesowiak earlier this season, I remember being impressed with his perimeter D, so I kept a close eye on it. The young man can defend chin to chin. Krzesowiak can really make ball handlers uncomfortable. Don't worry, he's still a shooter too, as he buried a couple in this game. One with a hand in face. Huron has an elite combination of shooters with Krzesowiak and Keefer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1437579' first='Macari' last='Moore'] was just out there being [player_tooltip player_id='1437579' first='Macari' last='Moore']. I actually ran out of room on my paper for all my thoughts and highlights on him throughout the win last night. What stood out to me the most was the power and quickness behind the dribble drive. It's just next level. Moore has a more than high school level speed bust with the ball in his hands.

Morning really impressed me in the win against Dexter. He was unselfish and was willing to do the things that his team needed to get the W. Kaiden, I hope you read this and know that people see you. He had a couple early steals and a terrific pass while twisting in the air. Morning was quick off the floor and rebounded bigger than his height.

Murphy had a really good game and really battled all night long. He was able to get downhill and was at his best when he did so. Murphy had 2 steals that he turned into instant offense. He then had a bucket off a straight line drive to the rim when he found a lane. Murphy had a nice ball fake and take that he drew a foul on.

Powell is definitely a talented basketball player. People kind of know that he can shoot, but he's much more fluid and athletic close up. Powell can shoot off a screen as well as create space for his looks off the bounce. He showed that he can be a threat to shoot from multiple levels when buried a mid range jumper.

Rademacher was looking to attack this game and it served him well. Well, he delivered. You just don't see a ton of players that seem to love to pass the ball as much as he does. Plus, Sidney does it more than effectively. He's one of the better in traffic and around the rim passers that I've seen this season.

I really like what Smith brings to the table on the basketball court. He carries himself like a leader too, which is impressive in it's own right. Solomon, in Skyline style, attacked the rim going north-south. He scored off a floater with touch and a righty drive through traffic. Solomon was able to shake a defender with his handles and finish at the rim. He added another highlight reel floater that he turned into an and 1.
