Murphy had a really good game and really battled all night long. He was able to get downhill and was at his best when he did so. Murphy had 2 steals that he turned into instant offense. He then had a bucket off a straight line drive to the rim when he found a lane. Murphy had a nice ball fake and take that he drew a foul on.

Murphy had a definite impact on the game when we saw him play. He made some big plays. In the first half, Murphy was able to draw a foul on a 3 point attempt. He drew a big charge early in the second half. Late in the game, Murphy hit a floater in the lane for an and 1. When he hit the free throw it cute the Skyline lead to 7 and gave Dexter some much needed momentum.

Murphy could be one of the top perimeter defenders in the SEC this season. I’ve seen him go toe to toe and get stops against some top notch talent. Murphy uses angles and physicality to cut off dribble drives and force the ball out of his man’s hands. Offensively, Murphy has a nose for the hoop and can get some buckets in traffic.

is a talented player from Dexter that holds a very bright future in the game of basketball. Murphy did come up with some tough buckets in a defensive game that I saw, but it was indeed his defense that ruled the day. He showed an ability to lock up and negate a dribble drive even against top notch talent. Murphy kept a low and wide base and stayed focused on his man.
