I’ve really liked DeMerell’s game since he started as a freshman last season. In this game, I could see his significant development as a leader from when I saw him last high school season. He’s improved as a primary ball handler and decision maker as well. DeMerell had a solid looking jumper and was a high IQ defender as well.
Cabana sent a message early in the game with a big jumper. I even made note that closeouts had to be hard, fast and effective or it’d be a long night. The closeouts improved, but Cabana was in rhythm. He’s a lights out shooter that has elite athleticism to go with it. Cabana has that big game flare and he came through yet again in a Chelsea win against Saline.
Highlights
Ben Murphy Ben Murphy 6’2″ | CG Dexter | 2025 State MI is a talented player from Dexter that holds a very bright future in the game of basketball. Murphy did come up with some tough buckets in a defensive game that I saw, but it was indeed his defense that ruled the day. He showed an ability to lock up and negate a dribble drive even against top notch talent. Murphy kept a low and wide base and stayed focused on his man.
Stephens just looked like a next level player. He has the frame and physicality for it, that’s for sure. His jumper was solid as always and he was able to shoot over the top of defenders. Stephens looked incredibly comfortable and effective doing work out of the corners and attacking the baseline.
Regan Plank
Regan Plank
Plank came up huge for Chelsea against against some elite young players for Saline. He looked like a linebacker in a basketball jersey and attacked his defensive assignments with a linebacker’s mentality. Plank wasn’t intimidated with tough tasks, but instead stayed confident, used his strength and picked up huge stops.
