Saturday PHI watched two games of the CPS Elite 8 playoffs which saw a pair of teams advance to play Thursday at UIC. Here where the top players and results from the afternoon games.

Curie 74 Simeon 68

Curie

Michael Oliver Jr 2026 5'11

The son of Coach Oliver paced his team in the first quarter hitting 2 threes making smooth pull-up jump shots and knocked in a couple of free throws. His shot-making and awareness of the moment was a huge lift for the Condors. Mike was the leading scorer through halftime with 15 points. In the second half he drained another three and then was the main shooter when Simeon managed to get 5 technical fouls called against them. Oliver finished with 21 points and the first slot in the CPS Final 4.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452415' first='Brad' last='Johnson'] 2025 6'4

Athletic guard who made timely shots for Curie whenever Simeon made runs to cut Curie's lead Brad answered with big shots. Johnson also helps Curie on the glass using his athleticism to pull in 8 boards. Brad has good instincts and IQ his leadership was key in this third matchup. He finished with 18 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734369' first='Justin' last='Oliver'] 2025 6'0

Another good performance from Oliver. He's poised in tough situations, got to the bucket several times, and scored off layups or was fouled. Has developed into the lead ball handler for the Condors. He chipped in with 16 points and 6 assists.

Simeon

[player_tooltip player_id='1385305' first='Lorenzo' last='Shields'] 2025 6'1

Tough attacking guard that lived in the lane often in this matchup. Zo is a player who is shifty but puts his head down and scores mostly off mid-range shots and layups. Shields also contributed with several assists moving the ball well to his teammates. He had a game-high of 23 points for Simeon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1439013' first='Julien' last='Doyle'] 2025 6'5

Doyle had a big day scoring 19 points mainly off smooth mid-range and baseline fadeaways. He used his length well and at times had a height advantage over the Curie defenders. Julien's athletic ability made him a pest on the boards and almost connected on a huge momentum tip dunk that just rimmed out. Doyle is an unsigned senior who isn't getting the attention he should from colleges.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552394' first='Andre' last='Tyler'] 2026 6'3

The always charismatic Tyler was rolling in the first half until he picked up his third foul midway through the second quarter. Andre managed to play most of the second half being a three-level scorer and finishing a big dunk on one of Simeon's big runs. In a game that was chippy until the very end. He finished with 13 points, 11 boards, and three blocks before fouling out with just under a minute left to play.

Hyde Park 65 Lincoln Park 64 3 OT

Hyde Park

[player_tooltip player_id='2540031' first='Kye' last='Ward-Owens'] 2026 6'3

Kye was on fire from deep as he drained 5 threes and hit some clutch free throws to push the Thunderbirds to a final four appearance on Thursday. Ward-Owens finished with 28 points and 4 boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2724415' first='CJ' last='Thomas'] 2026 5'10

Thomas was the floor general for Hyde Park who was completely calm against the frantic pressure defense that Lincoln Park used to try and speed up the game. CJ made simple reads which led to an assist right around the basket. In the late stretch of the game Hyde Park depended on his floaters and runners to help push the game into overtime. Thomas finished with 10 points and 8 assists in the win.

Lincoln Park

[player_tooltip player_id='2734375' first='Jaylen' last='Dickerson'] 2026 6'1

Dickerson was one of the few Lions who understood how to attack Hyde Park's zone defense at times. Dickerson was money from the mid-range and around the basket. His attention to how Hyde Park defended was a key to the Lion's run in the second half. Jaylen scored 20 points and led the Lions before fouling out in the overtime.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105222' first='Chayse' last='Turner'] 2025 6'4

The athletic Turner played well in spurts. Strong attacks to the basket and a nice dunk after a steal were highlights that gave his team momentum. Chayse did hit a three in the 4th quarter to send the game to the first overtime. He finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the loss.
