Thursday night's matchup was the last conference game, Battle for Red Shield, and control for the city. #8 Lincoln Park hosted #1 Kenwood Academy at Lion's Den on the Northside of Chicago.

Kenwood had control of the game and went up double digits in the second half. Lincoln Park made a tremendous comeback to take a 2-point lead in the fourth quarter, but later the tide shifted back to the Broncos and they would secure the win 70 - 61. Here are the top players from tonight's game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] 2027 Kenwood

The top prospects in the game made most of his impact in the first half. Hitting some tough shots in a very rowdy gym. Devin hit some key buckets off the dribble for Kenwood. He's so good at keeping guys off balance and getting to his spots to drain shots. For Cleveland's first time playing in the Lion's Den he didn't seem fazed at all. He scored 17 points for Kenwood in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385290' first='Amari' last='Edwards'] Kenwood 2025

The state champion continues to show why he is such a big addition to this team. He is in control at all times even with everything else around him going haywire. Edwards made some big shots during Kenwood run. A corner-three with defenders all in his face. The other circus shot that he was able to flip in over his head that he was fouled on. Amari seems to always play well in big games and tonight was maybe the biggest. Down the stretch Kenwood made sure he had the ball when it was time for Lincoln Park to send someone to the line. He finished with 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'] Kenwood 2025

Alston made some big shots from the corner and a mid-post fade away to help keep Kenwood on top during a late push from Lincoln Park. Aleks has been consistent this season as being a player who can stretch defenses because of how well he shoots. He scored 13 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2400893' first='Larry' last='Harris'] 2026 Lincoln Park

Harris was a beast around the basket. He was key in the Lion's late run in the third and fourth quarter. He's so strong around the basket but kept his moves simple with drop steps and step-through moves to score or be fouled on plays. A big moment was a two-handed slam that cut the game to 4 points. The Lions kept feeding Larry around the basket which had most of the Broncos in foul trouble. Harris played with all effort and heart and Lincoln Park jumped Broncos for second-chance shots and rebounds. I don't believe anyone can tell Larry he's undersized because he just plays like a 6"10 big man. He led the Lions with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2298580' first='Kaydin' last='Williams'] 2026 Lincoln Park

I have become a huge fan of Williams since watching him during MLK weekend. In this one he played just as well being a key scoring threat for the Lions in the first half. His deep threes and ability to score off the dribble in the lane was a huge lift for Lincoln Park in the first half. Kaydin is shifty with the ball and can get in the paint and hit tough buckets. He scored 15 at half but Kenwood would pick up the pressure on Kaydin and hold him to just four points the whole second half. Williams finished with 19 points but with major respect from the Broncos.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105222' first='Chayse' last='Turner'] 2025 Lincoln Park

Turner was a part of the run Lincoln Park made in the second half where he denied and deflected a couple of passes that led to points for him. Turner had 10 points and 4 steals in the end.
