Six finalists revealed for Mr. Basketball award

Allen has been outstanding during his return season in Wisconsin. After playing at Kaukauna as a freshman and IMG Academy as a sophomore and junior, Allen opted to come home for his senior season and he has helped Ashwaubenon to an 11-3 record with his scoring, rebounding, passing, size, leadership and grit. Allen is averaging 34.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists and can basically do everything on the basketball court. He had 43 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in a one-point loss to De Pere.

Perhaps the best defensive player in the state, Batemon is a lock-down defender who can get on a roll with his perimeter shot on the other end. The Iowa State recruit is a key player for an outstanding Academy of Science squad that includes other NCAA Division I players. Batemon is averaging 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists while helping his team to a 13-1 record with the lone loss coming in overtime to De Pere.

Gores is far more than a big player putting up big numbers simply because he's at a small school up north. The Wyoming recruit also is a versatile 6-foot-10 forward who can score inside and outside, rebound, pass, finish above the rim and pass out of double teams. He is a consistent performer on a team that needs him to put up big numbers in order to win. Gores has helped Cumberland to a 9-4 record by averaging 35.3 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

A consistently productive player who makes smart decisions on both ends of the floor, Kinziger can score, but he also can defend, move the ball, rebound and get on the floor for a loose ball. He is known for his sweet shooting stroke and quick release, but Kinziger has added a strong drive game that includes a step back jumper in the lane. Those traits have helped De Pere to a 12-1 record against a very strong schedule. Kinziger is averaging 26.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists while playing alongside very talented teammates.

Mitchell ranks among the state's top scorers as he is averaging 38.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists for a young squad at Oshkosh North. In mid-January, Mitchell scored 50 points in a Friday night loss to Kaukauna, and then came back with 51 points the next day in a win over Oshkosh West. The Iowa State recruit is a four-year varsity performer for coach Brad Weber at Oshkosh North and has scored 2,346 career points. Mitchell has helped Oshkosh North to an 8-8 record despite the absence of talented junior forward Bryce Ott Bryce Ott 6'7" | SF Oshkosh North | 2026 State WI (6-6), who is out with an injury.

The lone returning starter from a club that went 22-4, Womack has taken on a huge load for Dominican during his fourth year of varsity competition, and the Syracuse recruit has delivered. Despite being double teamed at times and always being the top focus of opponents, Womack is averaging 29.2 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists while leading the Knights to a 9-4 record. Womack is a cerebral player with outstanding length and athleticism to go with deep shooting range.
