While Coronado hasn't had a winning season so far, [player_tooltip player_id='1253129' first='Mason' last='Abittan'] has still been putting up numbers. The senior really uses his IQ to set up his shots and displays consistent mechanics. Abittan was also most recently named to the Tarkanian Classic All-Tournament team. In order for him to stay a top contender, he'll need to continue to perform at a high level the rest of the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268866' first='CJ' last='Shaw'] has been stellar this season. He has a game-winner against Parish-Episcopal, and has been a reliable producer in other big time match-ups that Mojave has had. At the moment he is averaging, 20.9 PPG (9th in the state in scoring) while shooting 55% from the field. Shaw is also averaging an impressive 6.7 assists per game and 3.7 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1281369' first='Xavion' last='Staton'] is the reigning Gatorade Player Of The Year here in Nevada. He has been the team leader Sierra Vista on defense, and their current record in 9-3. At the moment he is swatting 1.5 shots per game, but what the stats don't show is how many shots he is disrupting. On the offensive end, he is averaging 7.2 PPG and he's doing a pretty decent job of cleaning the glass. Racking up 7.6 rebounds per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='986960' first='Nick' last='Jefferson'] and Bishop Gorman have already experienced a good deal of success this season. Their biggest win was likely their game against St. Vincent - St. Mary back at the Nike Chosen 1's event. When I've watched Jefferson play, I've noticed that he is almost always pushing the pace. Which has kept opponents on their heels, and also led to some nice assists for Jefferson. Including some alley-oops to Chris Baudreau and [player_tooltip player_id='2370259' first='Terry' last='McKinney III']. He was also named to the Tarkanian Classic All-Tournament team last week.

Yapi's been contributing in just about every way for Sierra Vista this season. Right now, he is averaging 15.1 PPG, 4.9 APG. 7.1 RPG, and 3.1 SPG. His 4.9 APG is good for 8th in assists in the state. I also like the way he's been competing recently. I watched Sierra Vista's game against Monterey Trail and he really left it all out there on the court.
