In the first half he put together an impressive scoring spree, finding ways to get a taller player switched on to him, and then blowing by to get to the rim. Has a combination of length, handle, and athleticism that makes him tough to stop when he attacks the basket. Had two and-one finishes in the second half that proved to be huge for his team, including one late in the game that just about sealed the win. Finished with 20 points on the night.

Trey has been another key player for Apple Valley this season. He provides an additional ball handler, but can also stretch the floor as a shooter. Knocked down a handful of threes against Prior Lake, but was perhaps at his best getting into the lane and finding open teammates. Trey did a great job of scanning the floor while attacking, and it allowed him to quickly recognize where an open man was. Came up with some big stops defensively as he can move well laterally and has the explosiveness to help protect the rim and rebound at 6'2.

One of the more versatile players in the 2026 class, there's not much that Camare doesn't do for Apple Valley. He'll spend some time handling the ball, some out on the wing, and can also operate in the paint. His strong frame allows him to bully his way to the rim against smaller wings, but when defended with a forward he's so fluid on the ball that he can freeze his man and then blow by. When Apple Valley goes with a smaller lineup, Young can hold his own defending forwards, and with their regular lineup he's comfortable moving his feet out on the perimeter. Has the skill to take a defensive rebound and then initiate the break on his own.

Norbu is a big reason why Prior Lake has been so good through the first half of the season. He certainly has the green light from his team to go out and get a bucket, and against Apple Valley the 6'4 senior showcased a smooth pull-up game from mid-range and three. The type of player who you have to keep a hand up at all times when guarding, as he's not afraid to hit a shot right in your face. Scored 24 points on Monday against Apple Valley, and has been averaging 20.9 on the season.

Tian is another extremely versatile player in the 2026 class. On Wednesday against Anoka he was seen defending just about every spot on the floor, and not giving up anything easy. Even when his man was able to score on him, they were extremely tough turnaround jumpers that most guys in the state won't make. Provides an extra rebounding presence for his team at 6'5, and was crashing the glass hard on both ends, with a pair of tip-ins offensively. In the half-court he showed the change of speed to beat his man off the dribble to get to the rim, and also knocked down a few threes on his way to 19 points in a win.

Dre had a tough night shooting the ball when I saw him a couple weeks ago at Champlin Park, but has been playing at a high level over Anoka's past four games. During that stretch he's averaging 20 ppg, with 17 3P makes. Last night against Totino-Grace he came out firing, scoring 17 points in the first half as he mixed in some tough left handed finishes with a few makes from three. Teams know he's a sniper from beyond the arc, and last night he found success hitting his man with a quick shot fake and then blowing by to the rim. Tough finisher with either hand who has the body control to score through some contact. Finished the game with 24 points against one of the most talented teams in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574227' first='Chace' last='Watley'] continues to make things look effortless as he's been producing at a high level for the reigning AAA state champs. Last night against Anoka he was getting to just about anywhere he wanted too off the dribble, and his composure around the basket allowed him to finish with efficiency in traffic. Once he gets downhill, the possession is just about over as he's an automatic finisher with his left hand, who has the bounce to finish over defenders or around. Also knocked down a handful of jumpers on his way to 25 points. More impressive than just the pure scoring numbers is how efficient he seems to be every time I see him play. Chace could easily put up even more points, but keeps the ball moving and looks to get his teammates involved without forcing his own game too much.
