2028 Rankings Update: Exceptional Floor Generals

These floor generals have some of the highest IQ in this class, adept at setting up their teammates for success on a possession by possession basis.    Adkins is a pure lead guard, adept running ball screens to set up teammates with great looks in the halfcourt. With the ball on a string, he is comfortable changing speeds to leverage his defender's positioning against them, either for driving lanes or to create an opening for teammates. Defensively, he competes every possession, bringing great instincts on that side to intercept passes or tip the ball away at the point of attack.     Collier is already at home at the varsity level, bringing a smooth handle to step into shot attempts from all three levels. Already a capable floor spacer, he is a threat to step into pull-up jumpers from distance, particularly when opposing defenders drop below the arc. Still ready to pressure the rim when he finds an avenue downhill, the guard already processes the game at a very high level.     Davis, similar to many of the names on this list, possesses a great handle to deal with tight pressure at the point of attack, all while making the right decisions. Comfortable keeping his opponent on his hip to keep them guessing, he is at his best as a decisionmaker while attacking downhill.     The starting guard over at Cherry Creek, Johnson's efficiency as both a shooter and inside the arc scorer have aided this team's offensive floor. The dynamic handle one on one and out of ball screens has allowed him to become more and more efficient from the floor, drawing the aggressive opposing pressure to open up the floor for teammates.     Walkowiak's willingness to deal with physicality has granted him early opportunities with one of the better programs at the 6A level, at Thunderridge. A dependable downhill scoring option, his skills with the rock makes him a dynamic secondary scorer in spite of opposing closeouts. That downhill pressure has already made him one of the more productive passers in the class. Rebounding is another key area for the guard, grabbing more rebounds per game (4.9) than points (4.7), with an absolutely relentless motor at this stage.     McDonald has been a formidable name within recent showcases in the fall, displaying a great handle and a bit of flare with the ball. Set to be one of the more exciting backcourt names to follow in due time, the guard is a capable creator out of ball screens for himself and others. His quick hands at the point of attack make him a serviceable defender, capable of generating multiple steals a game.     Hart's handle has allowed him to succeed over the past few showcase events, bringing a great handle to set up teammates with exceptional looks along the perimeter. Despite his size, he is among the smartest floor generals in this class, certainly a name to follow at the small school level in coming seasons.     Trujillo has the skill as a playmaker and perimeter shooter to keep him as a threat with the ball, drawing pressure on the catch. The guard is another name who has impressed at fall showcase events, displaying the shooting range more than anything in those matchups.
