The 2024-25 season is halfway finished and as we have watched and monitored games all over the state, we have gathered enough intel to update the Class of 2026 rankings. There are a number of juniors who made some moves up the list - here are some of the top ones.

After serving as a supporting cast member last year, the Roosevelt junior has been in an elevated role this year and has embraced it fully. The long and lanky forward has been playing more confidently and aggressively as the season has gone along, fully utilizing his length and athleticism to be a factor around the basket at both ends of the floor. His upside is tremendous as he continues to move up the rankings and we sense that college offers could be on the way.

In general, Sherwood has been a balanced attack this season but if there's one guy that could be seen as the go-to person in the clutch it would be Rygh. The junior guard has gotten it done at multiple levels offensively this season and he's just as likely to drop dagger threes or drive to the basket and dunk it in someone's face. His level of skill and athleticism has some puzzled why the college offers haven't come in yet but there's no question that will change sooner rather than later.

The top big man in the junior class, the development of Read has continued as he's settled into his new digs at Churchill. He's been strong in the post and getting things done in the paint, but has shown a nice face-up jumper and his ability to run the floor and be a rim-runner has also been huge for the Lancers.

As he's gotten more healthy, the Nicholson we've all been ready for has been emerging at Central Catholic this season. His combination of size and athleticism has been helpful up front, but his versatility and ball skills will project him to more of a wing at the next level. As the Rams pursue a repeat 6A state championship, the junior will continue to be a critical piece with his scoring and rebounding.

Really stepping into a leading role this season has been Rigney, who has become Lake Oswego's go-to and most consistent offensive weapon under new coach Tully Wagner. The junior swingman has used his length and athleticism well in drives to the hoop but has also been able to knock down the three enough to keep defenses honest. He's already one of the top scorers in the state at over 20 points per game.

A transfer from Cleveland, Pichon has settled into a nice groove with his teammates at Gresham. As part of new head coach Cliff White's perimeter oriented attack, the junior has played multiple positions and contributed in multiple ways on both ends of the floor. While his future college spot will likely be as a point guard, his versatility has allowed him to continue growing his game as both a scorer and a distributor.

Arguably the top long-ranger shooter in the class, Groenig's range can be described by the proverbial phrase "when he steps into the gym". The Southridge junior has proven this season that he simply cannot be left open - and left open feet beyond the high school three-point arc as he's liable to burn the nets from deep. More than just a shooter, his abilities at creating off the dribble are continuing to improve as well.
