Following a few losses to graduation, and a major loss to transfer, Mount Pleasant is in need of a perimeter scorer to step up and that looks like it may be Reid. A 6-5 wing who can shoot it off the dribble and the catch, he has the size to get to his shot whenever he wants to, and he did just that against Cedar Rapids Washington, scoring 19 points on 5-9 shooting (4-7 3P). He has good form on his jumper, with a high, quick release.

While Reid is stepping up on the perimeter, it'll be Lange, an intriguing 6-7 big man holding down the paint for the Panthers. He had 14 points on 5-8 shooting, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block against Wash in their season opener. His footwork is still a work in progress, but he showed good touch, soft hands, and impressive vision and passing instincts out of the post.

An off-ball guard who can shoot it at a high clip off the catch, Thomas was solid for the Little Cyclones on both ends of the floor in their win over City High, scoring 8 points (2-4 3P) with 3 assists and 2 steals. Like any Ames guard, he's a good on-ball defender who moves his feet well and does a nice job using his hands to impact the game defensively. On the offensive end, he flashed good vision and passing instincts as well as some secondary playmaking off the dribble. He has a quick release on his jumper off the catch and moves well without the ball in his hands.

A long, athletic wing who can handle the ball and facilitate, Manson will be asked to do a lot of initiating of the offense this season for a Trojans team that has a lot of inexperience in the backcourt. He had a team-high 3 assists to go with 10 points (4-6 FG) and 8 rebounds (5 offensive). He does a nice job using his athleticism, a great second jump, and physicality to pound the glass hard on both ends of the floor.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2731874' first='David' last='Fason'] (Prairie)

A transfer from Cedar Rapids Washington, Fason came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points on 6-11 shooting to lead Prairie in their win over Pleasant Valley. A well-built 6-1 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, he showed some playmaking ability when operating with the ball, and he showed good offensive awareness and off-ball movement when he didn't have it. He scored from all three levels, showing a good mid-range game off the bounce, and he also contributed 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
