With the high school season getting underway, we at Prep Hoops VA will be taking a look at some previews for the season in each classification. We'll look at both state title contenders, as well as preseason All State teams. Here's a look at our picks for Preseason Second Team All State in VISAA D1.

Austin Wiliford | 6'4” CG | STAB '25

Williford really took advantage of [player_tooltip player_id='1259624' first='Chance' last='Mallory'] being injured this summer by showing he can be a go-to player as well, and the St. Joe's commit is going to be a very important piece if the Saints are going to get over the hump and win a state championship this year. The 6'4” combo is one of the best two way players in the state, as he is an absolute lock down defender with length and athleticism to challenge shots and get deflections while also being a very good rebounder as well. He is dynamite in transition with his athletic finishing ability, he can create space off the bounce and knock down tough shots from multiple levels and is good working off the ball to get open and make shots too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956075' first='Mason' last='Patrick'] | 6'4” F | Trinity Episcopal '25

Patrick was a standout as a junior but with the departure of Alex Chaikin to Lafayette he will be the senior leader and go-to guy on the team this year. The Hampden Sydney commit is a versatile weapon who can score in a number of different ways, and is consistently productive as a two way player. He can post smaller defenders and finishes well in the post, he can take slower defenders off the bounce, he can knock down open shots and is a good rebounder and defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1597214' first='Kendall' last='Jones'] | 6'4” CG | Flint Hill '25

Jones is part of a Flint Hill team that will have a number of talented players on their team, but he has all the tools to be the go-to guy and leader on this group. The 6'4” guard can create for himself and others within the offense, while also being a dynamic playmaker in transition as well. He scores the ball well from multiple levels whether he's playing on the ball or off the ball, he can make plays for others without dominating the ball and he does all the little things to help his team win,

[player_tooltip player_id='1520852' first='Stuart' last='Cosby'] | 6'6” SF | St. Chris '25

Cosby had a great junior season but was overshadowed by current VCU player Brandon Jennings, and now with him gone he is set up to have a huge senior season as the go-to guy on this group. The 6'5” wing checks the boxes as a prospect with prototypical size on the perimeter, and he does what every coach is looking for as a knock down shooter from deep. He moves well off the ball to get open and hit shots from deep on the move, he uses fakes and relocation dribbles to make shots against tough closeouts and he is able to make plays off the bounce in transition and when attacking closeouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1339892' first='Julian' last='Rivera'] | 6'1” PG | Highland School '25

Rivera is a guy that every coach would love to have on their team, as he can impact the game in many different ways even if he's not scoring the ball. He's a talented floor general that sees the game slower than most and can deliver passes to cutters and shooters, and he's also a high IQ and tenacious defender that can guard the other team's best player too. He's already had games this season where he's shown he can score it efficiently from multiple levels, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2301294' first='Akim' last='Iscandari'] | 6'2” PG | Potomac School '26

Iscandari is coming off a great summer where he showed his elite athleticism as a lead guard, and that makes him one of the hardest guards to gameplan for in the state. The 6'2” guard has blazing speed and a lightning quick first step, which makes him an absolute nightmare in transition and within sets to stay in front of. He has a great finishing package even against bigger defenders, he can make plays for others, he puts constant pressure on the defense and he's a good defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494103' first='Jaquan' last='Womack'] | 6'6” PF | Paul VI '25

Womack has been waiting his turn and between this summer and so far this season, he's shown that he will be a focal point for the Panthers on both ends. The Towson commit is a walking mismatch offensively as he has good ball skills on the perimeter and also the size and quickness to post up players and finish in the paint. He is a lethal scorer when he gets in the paint, can knock down shots from the perimeter when he's left alone and he can guard multiple positions as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459068' first='Dreylan' last='Creasy'] | 6'7” SF | Blue Ridge ‘26

Creasey is a prospect that college coaches should get to know ASAP, as he checks the boxes physically and is a versatile player who can impact the game in many ways. The 6'7” wing is able to play and guard multiple positions for the Barons, making him very valuable as a mismatch and as a switchable player who can guard multiple positions. He can score it from all over and thrives in creating mismatches, he is a great finisher in traffic, he can handle it and create for others and he's a very good rebounder as well.
