Thrill dug themselves an early 18-3 hole in the 1Q before Mallory visibly had enough and willed his team back into the game with the help of some substitutions and a fullcourt press. Mallory picked up the opponent’s best player and held him to one basket for the next 2 quarters, stifling the AZ Select offense at the POA while turning steals into 2 points at the other end. An incredibly physical lead guard, Mallory bullied his matchup to get to his spots and finished well in the paint before he started to dance on the perimeter and hit threes. It always seems like his defender might know where he was going but can’t do anything to cut off his path or beat him to the spot, he thrives on attacking the outside shoulder until he gets past his guy or puts someone in the basket with a stiff forearm. The vocal leadership was on display when he constantly encouraged teammates as Thrill made a run to get back in and eventually win the game in OT, but I want to see him vocally hold guys accountable and direct traffic more often. Demanding excellence despite the negative reactions you could get back is what makes the great floor generals truly elite.

Another easy high-major target for DI programs to hone in on in Virginia’s 2025 class, Mallory continues to impress with his ability to stuff the stat sheet as a small-guard prospect. He showed he can play big for St. Anne’s Belfield as they went 2-0 with victories over Ravenscroft and The Burlington School. He poured in 27.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 6.5 APG and 3.5 SPG on 47.6 percent shooting from the floor and 37.5 percent shooting from deep. He nearly dished out a triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists against Ravenscroft then followed that up with a 27 points, 5-rebound and 4-assist outing against The Burlington School in showing off his ability to lead by example. His biggest threat is his ability to knock down 3-pointers on the perimeter through creation. He knocked down three 3-pointers in each of their two victories. As he continues to improve his game and improve on his strength, look for his name to continue to grow and offer list as well.

, the top point guard in Virginia at 5’9, made a strong impact at The John Wall Invitational during day 1. Mallory’s lightning speed with the ball allowed him to navigate the floor effectively, and his strong frame enabled him to absorb contact and create opportunities. He displayed confidence in shooting from outside, opening up gaps for him to attack and create off the dribble. Mallory had an outstanding performance on day 1, finishing with a triple-double 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. With such a remarkable season, his national ranking is likely to continue rising.
