This past week I went to three games in three nights for my first week of a month back covering the NWO Area. On Thursday I was at Perrysburg for their win over the NLL cross-division matchup of Southview, 73-66. Friday night I was at the biggest rivalry in the NWO area and CHSL match-up as Toledo St. Francis DeSales won 64-62 over St. John's Jesuit. Then last night I was at Toledo Christian as Emmanuel Christina got the road win 58-50. This article will talk about the Top Juniors from these games.

Horton is one heck of a player. He was the best player in the gym and won the game for the Knights. Not only is he a height mismatch for most he is also a strength mismatch now. He creates a ton of space for himself on the post-up and then has a great touch around the rim. When you get it to Horton in the post it is efficient. He is going to get some points when you feed him the ball. He has amazing footwork, patience, and moves in the post. He also changed the game with his size on the defensive end because St. John's couldn't take layups. He was always in the right position to help with his hands up and blocking, altering shots, and making the Titans take a ton of threes. When the Knights' offense was getting stagnant late in the game, they just gave the ball to Horton, and he was willing them to victory. He was grabbing a ton of back-breaking offensive rebounds late. He had back-to-back 2 hand dunks on consecutive possessions in the 4th that swung the momentum of the game. One of the better games from a big man I have seen.

Kowalczyk is a high-level player. He does some things at a high level. He is a high-volume shooter and scorer with some high confidence. He is not afraid to shoot the ball, and I do not blame him because he consistently makes tough shots. He is a bucket-getter at every single level. His midrange game is the best part of his offensive bag. He can hit shots with a hand in his face and creates space without using many moves or dribbles. He played the game with some high competitive passion.

Miles had a very slow first half and start to this game and was something that needed to change if EC wanted to win this game. That changed as he scored 17 points in the second half. The ball was put in his hands more and his size and athleticism were a mismatch for TC to handle. When he got the ball in transition without letting the defense set up it was a bucket, or he went to the line. Miles' size was a huge difference as most of the points came in the paint.

Goodnough came off the bench in limited minutes for the Titans and had a huge winning impact. His size and length were something that shined on the defensive end. He tallied up a good bulk of blocks instantly. He was altering shots when the guards for St. Francis drove to the rim. He came off the bench with a ton of energy and toughness. He was someone who came on the court and made his impact felt.
