The 2025 Rankings Update saw most things stay the same across the 200+ player list. However, some players had strong fall performances and fast starts to their senior season and earned the title of a stock riser that comes from rising in the latest rankings update. In this article we'll break down five forwards who made a jump from this update.

Hoerner has been one of the most dominant high school players from the Dayton area over the past two seasons. As a Junior, Hoerner led the GWOC in scoring and rebounding. To start his senior season, Hoerner is averaging 14.3 RPG!!! While he is struggling a bit from the field, shooting just 40%, I expect Hoerner to find his confidence and boost that percentage as the year progresses. One of the most skilled bigs in Ohio, Hoerner is a guy you can give the ball to on the block, in the high post or on the baseline and let him go to work. Few players across Ohio have as much offensive volume as Hoerner between his field goal attempts, turnovers and assists, Miamisburg looks for him to create almost everything for them. It'll be interesting to see Hoerner at the college level where he'll be surrounded by more talented offensive players to bear more of an offensive load.

Imade is a prospect who still shows more flashes than production but with his movement ability on the perimeter, a smooth looking jumper and physical tools with his height and length, there's reason to believe in him as a long-term prospect. After a strong season opening performance at the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic against a school out of Florida, Imade has struggled a bit with the more physical and slower tempo GMC teams. As Imade continues to mature physically and add strength, I think he'll be even tougher to stop with his outside/inside versatility.

McCruter is an incredibly intriguing big prospect who can move his feet latterly and vertically, incredibly nimble for his height. It's why McCruter has not only gained basketball recruiting interest, but also for college track and field teams. I've been impressed with McCruter's hands, length and ability to play above the rim. Hoping to see his impact become more consistent and his productivity spike as a senior because the tools are all there. McCruter is on the right track to not only being an intriguing college prospect to watch, but also a player who can help his high school program win right now. If Big Walnut is going to compete with the best of the best in Division II from central Ohio, they'll need McCruter to be impactful at both ends in the paint.

One of the biggest players in Ohio's 2025 class, Showes has height and size you simply can't teach. I was impressed that his best game early in the season came against [player_tooltip player_id='2058610' first='Jermiel' last='Atkins'], another one of the biggest players in Ohio. Where Showes has struggled has been against teams with undersized bigs in the paint and also staying out of foul trouble early in the season. A prospect to be patient with, it's obvious when you watch Showes that the physical tools are there and he's improved since I first started watching him as a Junior. I'll be curious if Showes goes to a college where he can play as a freshman or ends up doing a post-grad or redshirt year.

Holland is a player I haven't seen live since July but he drew rave reviews at the GCBCA senior showcase and the highlights he's posted during scrimmages and early season regular season contests show a player who is starting to take that next step. Another very gifted player athletically, Holland has the prototypical size you are looking for and his sister is a Division I volleyball player so he comes from an athletic background. I had seen Holland run the floor and play above the rim but his improved ball handling and perimeter shooting is starting to take his game to the next level. I'm hoping I'll get to see Holland one last time in person during his senior season.
