In Centreville's first game of the week, they won comfortably over John Champe. In that win, Centreville was led by both Davis brothers. Jaxson is this team's best player and someone who I expect to be one of the top guards in NOVA. What impressed me was what [player_tooltip player_id='2815368' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] was able to do for this team off the bench. Maddox contributed and flashed his potential last season. He was impressive against Champe and will be a big part of Centreville during his Sophomore campaign. Maddox does a great job as a penetrator and is fantastic at finishing through contact. Maddox was terrific defensively and should be on people's radar moving forward.

South Lakes hosted Woodson in a game that I was interested in seeing. South Lakes lost a lot of production, and I felt Woodson was a great test for South Lakes fresh off their state title-winning season. [player_tooltip player_id='1410534' first='Jordan' last='Scott'] completely dominated this game for South Lakes from start to finish. Jordan hit shot after shot from 3 early in the game, and he showed off some serious range. This was about as aggressive as I've seen Jordan in terms of him looking for his shot from start to finish. Jordan dominated in the paint as well, grabbing several offensive rebounds. He scored at all three levels and ended with 32 points.

I tagged [player_tooltip player_id='1588130' first='Devon' last='Pettibone'] as a guy outside of the top 100 to watch this season, and he got off to a great start in a narrow win over Dominion. Devon is a great shooter and a scrappy player on both ends. He lived at the foul line and finished with 24 points. Devon will put up some big scoring performances this season on a Briar Woods team that will ask a lot from him.

Another small guard who can fill it up on the offensive end is Noah Calalang. Noah was fantastic for Park View as a Sophomore last year, and he has gotten off to an even better start this year. Noah had 35 in a loss to Pot Falls, then had 34 in a win over Lewis. Noah is a lethal jump shooter with a fantastic handle. Noah will be one of the top scorers in NOVA, and I think he could see his name in the rankings at some point this year.

Marshall lost a large chunk of their production from last year, and I was interested to see who stepped up for them this season. Senior Center [player_tooltip player_id='2242429' first='Anderson' last='Krisko'] will be the focal point of this offense, and he was early in this game against Robinson. But after he found himself in foul trouble, Sophomore G/W [player_tooltip player_id='2815378' first='Trey' last='Lonardo'] had a coming-out party. Trey is a good spot-up shooter and lived in the paint all game. Trey is a good passer, and he could be a breakout candidate this season for Marshall. Trey Finished this game with 19 points in a Marshall win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2382874' first='Mason' last='Ridgeway'] has gradually ascended over the past year or so, and I think he is only going to keep rising. Riverside has a lot of talent that does a lot of things well. Mason will be their go-to scorer, and he has gotten off to a great start to the year. He had 20 in a blowout win over Freedom South-Riding, then followed it up with 23 in a win over Forest Park. I've talked extensively in the past about what Mason can bring on the floor, and he is going to take another leap this season.
