NORCAL ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

Saturday Dec 7, PH NorCal was at the Ultimate Challenge. 7 games with plenty of NorCal prospects showcasing their talents in the early season. A Player of the game was selected from the winning team by media.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 1: Palma led by 18pts at the half. Then host San Leandro clawed its way back in the second falling just short 56-53. JJ Saucedo 5'10 2026 Guard won Player of the Game: His 9 points in the first quarter got Palma off to a good start. He finished with 18 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 2: Branson ran away from Menlo Atherton 68-45: Super Soph [player_tooltip player_id='2212735' first='NJ' last='Gray'] 6'1 Guard was selected Player of the Game. He led all scores with 25 points. He's one of NorCals top prospects in the Class of 2027. Gray picked up a DI offer last week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 3:Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose took care of Fremont of Oakland 56-41: The Bells were led by [player_tooltip player_id='1703108' first='Will' last='Corbett']. A rising prospect in the Class of 2026. Corbett scored 30 points making him one the top scorers at this event. He's scored 30 points in the last two games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 4: Clayton Valley Charter took on Clovis West in a back and forth game, which saw each team grab the lead throughout. [player_tooltip player_id='2136800' first='Zion' last='Grissom'] 6'5 2027 shooting guard is starting to get college coaches attention with his play. Clayton Valley got the win over a game Clovis West from the Central Valley, 65-62. Grissom was named Player of the Game with a productive 20 point game and multiple rebounds.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 5: Dougherty Valley playing without its top player, and transfer. [player_tooltip player_id='1384425' first='Jalen' last='Stokes'] 6'5 guard who's committed to UC Davis. This was the upset game of the day going against Moreau Catholic. [player_tooltip player_id='1702937' first='Rashod' last='Cotton'] a 6'1 2026 guard was selected Player of the Game with his 20 point performance. Dougherty Valley gets the win 70-49.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 6: Salesian College Prep, and Modesto Christian was the marquee game matchup. Salesian Prep the runner up in the State Finals last season looks to reload and make another run at a title. While Modesto Christian no stranger to State Finals have been participants as well. Salesian won the entertaining match up, 80-70. [player_tooltip player_id='1707503' first='Carlton' last='Perrilliat']. A 6'5 2026 riser was just too strong for anybody on the court to stop. He muscled his way into the paint for buckets regularly. He was the co-leader in point production for the day with 30 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 7: Liberty came in as the slight underdog, but came away with a gutsy win over Vanden 57-47. Good shooting usually gives you a chance. [player_tooltip player_id='2228061' first='Dante' last='Vigil'] a 5'9 2026 guard shot the ball well coming up with big baskets when the team needed one.
