The high school basketball season in Southern California has come to a close and now it's time to recognize the region's top players with our series of positional lists. First up: The Guards. Selections were based on individual production and team success in non-league, league and playoff games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2750200' first='Aiden' last='Shaw'] | 2028 | Bishop Amat

Shaw was a locally-known commodity coming into his sophomore season but his playoff performances earned him a place in the state spotlight. The 6-foot-1 point guard did a little bit of everything for the Lancers with averages of 21.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game. Shaw led Amat to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship and a 28-6 overall record on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956470' first='Chace' last='Holley'] | 2026 | Redondo Union

Holley was a key factor on both ends of the floor for Redondo's memorable season which saw the Sea Hawks win 27 games, earn the outright Bay League title and make deep runs into the Open Division playoffs. The 6-foot-1 point guard, who is currently committed to Pepperdine, is an elite, ball-hawking on-ball defender whose ability to turn opponent's over led to him generating transition buckets for himself and his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435386' first='Hunter' last='Caplan'] | 2027 | Crean Lutheran

Caplan was the perimeter key to Crean Lutheran winning the CIF Southern Section Division 1 title and the CIF State Division 1 Regional Semifinal where the Saints fell to eventual champion, Damien. The 6-foot-3 combo guard led Crean in scoring with 17 points per game, added three assists and knocked down an impressive 120 three-pointers at a 42 percent clip from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194692' first='Isaiah' last='Barnes'] | 2027 | Crespi

The Celts had one of their better years since Derek Fisher took over the program and a lot of that had to do with the growth and development of [player_tooltip player_id='2194692' first='Isaiah' last='Barnes']. The 6-foot-3 junior doesn't boast the gaudy numbers like some others on this list but his two-way impact has to be recognized. Barnes was a physical, disruptive and multi-positional defender. Offensively, he averaged 13.5 points with a mix of catch-and-shoot three's, mid-range jumpers and tough drives to the rim. Crespi won 21 games and reached the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956524' first='Isaiah' last='Rogers'] | 2026 | Corona Centennial

Rogers has been one of Southern California's premier perimeter scorers over the last two seasons and flashed some improved playmaking and passing during his senior year. The Stanford-bound shooting guard led Centennial to a 27-8 overall record, an undefeated Big VIII League title and an appearance in the Southern Section Open Division playoffs and the State Division 1 playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956461' first='Jason' last='Crowe, Jr.'] | 2026 | Inglewood

Crowe is on this list for obvious reasons. The Missouri-bound senior closed out a legendary high school career as California's all-time leading scorer and put up an unmatched 43.6 points per game this season while leading the Sentinels to a 28-7 overall record, a CIF Southern Section Division 1 semifinal appearance and a trip to the CIF State Division 1 playoffs. Crowe's career scoring output will be tough for any future player to come close to.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956504' first='Joe' last='Sterling'] | 2026 | Harvard-Westlake

Sterling will go down as one of the best perimeter shot creators and perimeter shot-makers in recent Southern California memory. The 6-foot-3 combo guard was one of the region's best scorers the minute he played his first high school game and he only got more polished - and more dangerous - as his career went on. Sterling helped the Wolverines to a 27-7 overall record, a 5-2 mark in Mission League play, a trip to the Southern Section Open title game and the State Open SoCal Regional Final.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956542' first='Kaiden' last='Bailey'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

The addition of Bailey two seasons ago changed the trajectory of the Santa Margarita program and catapulted it into the conversation of top teams in the state and in the country. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has uncanny shot-making ability from all three levels of the floor and his ability to take and make tough, contested shots three, mid-range and at the rim made him one of the most difficult covers in all of high school basketball throughout his career. Santa Margarita went 28-6 this season, 4-1 in the Trinity League, reached the Southern Section Open Division semifinals and the State Open Regional Semifinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436275' first='Maxwell' last='Scott'] | 2027 | Corona Del Mar

Scott was the catalyst to the Sea Kings' high-octane, five-out offensive attack with his ability to knock down three's and mid-range jumpers at a high clip and his savvy as a cutter and at-rim finisher. The 6-foot-2 junior led CdM to a 27-4 overall record, an undefeated Sunset Conference title and its first appearance in the Southern Section Open Division playoffs.

NaVorro Bowman, Jr. | 2027 | Notre Dame

Bowman, Jr. is one of the state's best point guards with his ability to impact the game as a scorer, playmaker and defender. The 6-foot-3 junior put together a strong junior campaign, highlighted by averages of 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game while leading Notre Dame to 22 wins, a second-place finish in the Mission League and appearances in the CIF Southern Section and State Open Division playoff fields.

Zaire Rasshan | 2027 | Damien

Rasshan was one of the best three-point shooters in the state and his ability to fill it up from distance was the key factor in the Spartans winning the Baseline League and reaching the Southern Section Open Division playoff field. Damien dropped down to Division 1 for the state playoffs and went on a memorable run to the state championship game where the junior guard made crucial shots down the stretch as the Spartans took home the title with a 58-55 win over Folsom.
