PH NorCal finished the weekend at the Gridley Tournament with an exciting finish between NorCal's # 1 and 2 ranked programs. This was the match up everyone expected. Archbishop Riordan and Salesian College Prep didn't disappoint. The Crusaders took home the Championship trophy with a 52-51 win against the Pride. It was no easy path to the title game. Both Semifinal games went down to the wire. Riordan held on to beat Clovis North 54, 52, while Salesian got by San Ramon Valley 70-68.

Archbishop Riordan and Salesian stayed close throughout the first quarter of play (17-15) Riordan. NorCal's top 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1702936' first='Andrew' last='Hilman'] asserted himself (11pts) in the first half to give Riordan a 34-22 lead at half-time. [player_tooltip player_id='1707503' first='Carlton' last='Perrilliat']e scored all of his 8 points, and steady play from [player_tooltip player_id='2352694' first='Elijah' last='Stanley'] 4pts, produced a 18-4, 3rd qtr, from Salesian, and a 40-38 lead after 3qtrs. Riordan played good defense all weekend with [player_tooltip player_id='1382882' first='Nes' last='Emeneke'] 6'10 (UC Irvine) protecting the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='1384447' first='Jasir' last='Rencher'] (Texas A&M) drained a 3ptr with 12 seconds left to give Riordan the lead. Salesian had a chance for the lead or tie, but missed free throws at the end. [player_tooltip player_id='1703083' first='Isaiah' last='Davis'] led Salesian with 13pts. [player_tooltip player_id='1702936' first='Andrew' last='Hilman'] had 19 for Riordan. [player_tooltip player_id='2215141' first='Cole' last='White'] played good defense coming off the bench.

3rd place Game: Clovis North from the Central Valley hung on to get by San Ramon Valley, 53-46.
Clovis North probably had the hardest 3 games of any team at Gridley. Game 1, CN knocked off Clayton Valley 50-41, Game 2, they lost a close one to Riordan, 54-52. The 3rd place they game snuck by San Vamon Valley 53-46. Loukas Jones 6'3 Unsigned Senior SG was the tournaments leading scorer. 2026 prospects Elias Gish, and McKae Amundsen 16pts, leads a team that can compete with any team in NorCal. San Ramon was without its PG [player_tooltip player_id='1384452' first='Mason' last='Thomas'] who played outstanding the night before. Elliot and [player_tooltip player_id='1572968' first='Thomas' last='Conley'] combined for 24 of the teams 46 points. Irvine commit [player_tooltip player_id='1530585' first='Luke' last='Isaak'] had 10 points.

Consolation Champions: Destiny Christian from Sacramento, gets the win against Clayton Valley Charter 46-40. [player_tooltip player_id='1776801' first='Elijah' last='Perryman'] Clayton Valleys top player and (Utah St). His good start put CVC up 18-10 after one qtr. He exited after one qtr and didn't return. Experienced Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1574708' first='Jaden' last='McClane'] led CVC with 11pts, multiple rebounds and good interior play. Next man up [player_tooltip player_id='2136800' first='Zion' last='Grissom'] a rising 2027 prospect had three 3 pointers, while [player_tooltip player_id='1710058' first='Cannon' last='Simpson'] played well off the bench. Destiny Christian's Unsigned Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1384815' first='Jaylen' last='Valdez'] had 18pts. Rising Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1703103' first='Mohammed' last='Kamara'] (9pts), and [player_tooltip player_id='1702963' first='Myles' last='Wiggins'] (8pts) both 6'6 gives Destiny Christian a rebounding edge on most nights the way they attack the boards.

7th Place Game: Branson got its one win against Gridley 63-28.
They're a young team playing a tough early season schedule. They'll probably lead this group throughout the season. Gridley's best player on Saturday was [player_tooltip player_id='1707505' first='Bikram' last='Kullar'] a wiry 6'6 2026 versatile prospect who can handle, pass, and shoot out on the perimeter.
