PH NorCal class of 2028 rankings have been released. During the season there's always players that catch our eye with their play on the court. In this age group some are still raw, and developing their skills, they may start, or come off the bench. When they hit the court they contribute and show they can be better players down the road with continued skill development.

[player_tooltip player_id='3561240' first='Matthew' last='Osterloh']: Our first look at Osterloh was at the CIF State DIV Championship Game his team won. He's been a key contributor all season. Standing around 6'5 he has a solid body and improving skills away from the basket. He will shoot open 3's, he's a good passer up high, around the top, ball reversals. He's most effective in and around the post areas for now, not just posting up, but coming across, working the baseline. He has some touch in the paint. He goes after rebounds on both ends, defends his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='2871662' first='Pat' last='Bala']: He's a prospect we saw play in the CIF State DIV Championship Game. He's a good all around guard, listed as a 6'0 point guard, but can effect the game off ball from different areas. He has handles, leverage and hard dribble drives to the basket. He sees the court half, and full to deliver quality passes. He will knock down open 3's along the perimeter. He has the footspeed and lateral movement to stay close while defending.

[player_tooltip player_id='3504412' first='Drew' last='Cumby']: He's one we'll keep an eye on going forward. Standing 6'4, and growing, lengthy arms. He's still a bit raw, but you can see the overall skill development process at work. He plays mostly post area right now, but can function away from the basket. He runs the middle court for now, block to block. He's a target inside wants the ball, has improving footwork to finish on both sides of the basket. He can use a bump and a couple of dribbles from the top to finish at the front of the rim. He'll battle for rebounds, go after blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='3583876' first='Max' last='Manley']: He gives good effort on both sides of the court. Good size at 6'3, runs the court wide in transition, likes to set up in the corners for early offense, catch corner 3's, will attack from the baseline, or hit a trailing 3ptr from the top. He's a ball mover, sets screens, moves without the ball. He squares up for 3's from different spots. He has good footwork defending, fights through screens, doubles down to the block to help.

[player_tooltip player_id='3583956' first='Liam' last='Crawford']: A long wing prospect at 6'5 and growing, needs to get stronger. He's listed as a guard, more likely a wing/forward for now, while he sharpens his overall skill set. When the opportunity presents itself, he'll push fast up the side court. He's a court runner heads to the basket for follow ups, and tap ins. He'll set up in the corners for a catch and shoot 3ptrs, he'll roam the perimeter, passing, setting screens, before cutting to the basket. He hit the short corner baseline jumper. He uses lengthy arms, good stance, lateral movement defending on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='3583840' first='Brandon' last='Osby']: A fast point guard, still learning how to run the position, but does have some tools to work with. He's a good ball handler, sees the court, a willing passer. Using handles, and a first step, he can split defenders get into the paint, float it, pass it or pull up for a paint jumper. He has good footspeed, and lateral movement to trap all over the court, might force a turnover.

[player_tooltip player_id='3583999' first='Lyfe' last='Modile']: A strong body, solid defender, picks up full court, has footspeed, lateral movement, recovers quickly. He can hound the ball handler at times, deny shooters, fight thru screens. At 6'2 and strong he's a rebounding guard. He's still sharpening his tools on offense, but did show a few quick and hard dribble moves to create and get his shot off along the baseline. He'll run the court to get transition points in traffic. Best days are ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='3584120' first='Jake' last='Ferreira']: We saw this prospect early in the season. He was the second leading scorer on the team 13.2, had 4.5r, 3.3a, 2.2s. He plays a steady game, balanced doesn't look rushed. He plays off ball, takes good shots. He has a few moves off the dribble to create his shot opportunities for paint points, and assists. A jab step, crossover dribbles, spin moves to get past a defender. He's quick on the release for catch and shoot 3-pointers in the corner, and coming up court for rhythm 3's railing in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='3584176' first='Will' last='Chapman']: A shooting guard with good movement, and cuts without the ball looking for open space to get the ball pass or shoot. makes good use of screens for a quick release shot. He's a good defender uses footspeed in full court to run on the sides of ball handlers cutting him off from the paint, a long arm defender cuts off the drive along the baseline. There's some post action screens, and good passing from the high post before heading out to look for open perimeter shots. He was the teams leading scorer 14.2pts. Played in the NorCal CIF DV Regional Championship Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3584195' first='Karam' last='Kang']: A wiry lead guard, makes it a point to settle, and run the team in half-court sets. A good ball handler, plays at a good pace, sees the whole court for long passes up, and strong passes along the perimeter. He's got some tools to create his shots off the dribble. A few dribbles going left for a short jumper, he'll drop a catch and shoot 3 from the corner on the inbounds if open, or weave his way into the paint for assits or points. He led the team in scoring and assists 13.8, 4a per game.
