Avary has looked much more solid inside, looking to get there from perimeter drives or setting up on the blocks to go to work. He has some plus athleticism to pair with his length and he's been very effective with his rim finishes looking to go right at defenders with his leaping ability. He's also shown some improvements finishing on both sides of the hoop from the blocks, using either hand and showing some patience to feel out defenders.

Grandview placed second at last year's 2A state tournament and look ready to make a run back to the state title game this season with many of their key guys returning. One of those key guys is Bentley. He has the ability to stretch the floor but has really looked stronger attacking the paint and not settling for outside shots. He's embracing playing with physicality at the rim and with his length he's able to make plays on defense, getting his hands on shots and passes.

Webb continues to raise his stock with his impressive play. In their game against Roosevelt, Webb was all over the paint blocking shots, even extending out to block some shots outside the paint. His length, athleticism, and aggression are really coming together defensively but he's also shown great growth on the offensive end. Along with being able to knock down the outside shot, Webb has been vastly improved off the dribble and working to change direction on the go. He looks very composed attacking off the bounce and should continue to be one of the top players in the state this season.

Curtis looks much different than last year after losing both Devin Whitten and [player_tooltip player_id='2173760' first='Keaundre' last='Morris']. That puts a lot more emphasis and importance on the skills Ahrens brings to the floor. He's a poised player who can operate out of different spots on the floor, playing on the perimeter, at the high post, and moving block to block. And while he's a solid athlete and plays tough inside, it's been his shooting touch that has really impressed me. He does a great job turning and facing, can hit jumpers consistently from the midrange, and can stretch out to three at times. And he's been composed on drives, showing the touch to pull up short or decelerate and gather himself in space.

Bhalod is off to a phenomenal start, averaging 21.3 points and 15.8 rebounds (7.3 OFFR) per game after putting up 18.3 points and 12.9 rebounds last season. His work on the offensive glass has been impressive to say the least, and it's resulted in a lot of second-chance points in close, as well as an average of 7.5 FT/game. He's been on a roll to start the year including two near 20-20 games (33 points 18 rebounds vs Foster, and 19 points 19 rebounds vs Lindbergh).

Klosterman is a pretty solid kid who can use that strength and size inside to make an impact on the glass but he's also been a much bigger presence on the wings this season. A lot of that seems to be due to an increased confidence and consistency in his outside shot. He's looked very efficient cashing in open shots outside and has been able to attack closeouts and get to space. He's not wasting dribbles or trying to do too much out there, but he's effective and efficient with his touches and deciding when to attack.

Daniels has really stepped it up from the summer and into the early parts of this season. He's had to take on a much larger scoring role within North Central's offense this winter and has lived up to the task so far. He's looked tougher with the ball, more aggressive attacking gaps, and has shown an elevated ability to score from different spots and split defenders when attacking the rim. There seems to be an emphasis on attacking the middle, whether that comes off of drives or exploiting mismatches in the post.
