Aaron’s PH Bash in the Desert Standouts : 15u/16u Part 2

I was able to pop in to Millennium high school for the Prep Hoops Annual Bash in the Desert. I got to cover 15u and 16u players from multiple teams coming from multiple states.   It was fun to discover players from Arizona and other states making it a must see event for basketball junkies like my self.   I Picked out 12 players from my limited time at the event and separated them in to part 1 and part 2 of my personal standouts. He is a great slasher to the rim and finishes high and strong in the lane. He has a very quick first step and will often attack slower foot defenders creating mismatches. Jax has an array of moves he uses when getting to the paint like a euro step, spin and seal with the elbow and a up and under . He is a very active on the offensive glass and is able to give his team second chance points. His motor shines on the defensive end when he guard bigger players. He uses his great hands to poke balls away and dive for lose balls. Jax does all the dirty work for his squad and was a essential piece all weekend.     Terrence is a lengthy guard that has some shiftiness to him. He is able to get down hill with his length and speed and finish at the rim with finesse. He can also stop on a dime and rise up and hit a nice midrange jumper. He hit multiple tough midrange jumpers from the elbows and short corner. He can also set the table for teammates and plays very unselfish. He will advance the ball up the sideline or locate shooters when he draws multiple defenders.     Jackson is a lengthy wing with a solid handle and high upside. Jackson was one of my favorite players to watch all weekend as he played the game the right way. He will get down hill and uses length to finish at the rim or use his length to hit a reverse layup. Jackson has a smooth looking jumper and will attack the middle to rise up and hit a middy. He is able to push the ball off the rebound and take it coast to coast. Jackson is a legit perimeter defender that uses length an athleticism to disrupted ball handlers. He has real potential to be a really solid two way wing.     Andrew is a pass first floor spacing point guard. He impressed me with his ability to run the offense almost every time down the court. Like a true point guard he was able to set teammates up where he wanted and put them in spots that would make them successful. Andrew could also score when needed. He hit multiple catch and shoot three's and even scored out of the midrange.     Mekhi is a scoring combo guard with that can get hot in a hurry. He is a lengthier guard and will use it to his advantage. When he goes to the bucket he keeps the ball away from defenders making him hard to block. He can really get going from deep and shoots well of the catch making him a solid floor spacer. He can handle the rock or play off ball and score in both roles.     Omni is a very crafty guard that has a knack for scoring. He lets the game come to him and plays at his own pace. He attacks defenders hips well and will get down hill to score easy buckets at he rim. He also likes to get to his spot in the midrange area off a one or two dribble pull up. He will also find windows in the defense to spot up for a three. Omni also was able to hit the three off the dribble coming off picks. He has solid vision and isn't afraid to thread the needle every now and then.
