The highly anticipated new edition of the class of 2027 rankings have finally been released, with 75 players including over 20 new players to the list! As I've warned before, ranking classes before their junior season is very tricky, so consider this more of a continued starting point and not a final draft, as there are plenty of players who will emerge and improve and things will change a lot over the next few years.

Today, we take a look at part three of the wings rankings, looking at some of the top shooting guards and small forwards in the class.

5) [player_tooltip player_id='2575696' first='Jamison' last='Ross'] | 6'5” SF | Patriot (#15 Overall)

Ross is set to have a breakout season and after making his debut in these rankings could see himself move way up as he continues to prove himself for his talented Patriot squad. The 6'5” wing checks a lot of the boxes physically and athletically after a growth spurt, and he's already drawing division one offers in the preseason as he looks to be one of the go-to guys for them this year. At 6'5” he is a big time athlete who is dynamic in transition and when he gets downhill, he can make shots from deep off the catch, is a good rebounder and defender and is just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='2194710' first='Brian' last='Mitchell Jr.'] | 6'3” SG | Varina (#10 Overall)

Despite dealing with some injuries early in his career, Mitchell has shown he's one of the top young players in the Richmond area and has a chance to be one of Varina's top players this year if he remains healthy. He isn't built like a normal sophomore, as he has a strong frame to go along with an advanced game that allows him to make plays on both ends of the floor. He's a dead eye shooter from deep with effortless range and a quick release, he can put it on the deck and get to his spots to make tough shots and he has a good IQ and instincts on both ends of the floor as well.

3) [player_tooltip player_id='2353665' first='Will' last='Braun-Duin'] | 6'2” SG | John Handley (#8 Overall)

Braun-Duin wasted no time showing he's one of the top young players in the state, as he was an All State selection as a freshman regularly putting up big time numbers and showing he's one of the elite shooters in the state regardless of class. If that wasn't enough, he followed it up with a sensational summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2226248' first='Boo' last='Williams'] 15U where he shot over 50% from deep on the E15 Circuit, and was one of their top players throughout the summer. He's a talented shot maker who can set his feet on the move and has deep range with consistency, he can get hot quickly and drill shots in succession, yet he has a lot more as he can work out of pick-and-rolls to make plays for himself and others and he's very good at creating space off the bounce too.

2) [player_tooltip player_id='2353632' first='Makai' last='Ragland'] | 6'5” SF | Albemarle (#6 Overall)

Ragland was one of Albemarle's top players as a freshman on their run to the state semifinal, and this year he'll likely be their go-to option with many of their top players either graduating or transferring. He's one of the most intriguing long term prospects in this class, as he already has terrific positional size and is a very good athlete for his age as well. He shows a great base skillset with his ability to put it on the deck and create off the bounce, he's dynamic in transition where he can run the floor and finish above the rim, he can knock down open shots and he is a good rebounder and versatile defender as well.

1) [player_tooltip player_id='2323647' first='Howard' last='Williams'] | 6'5” SF | Oak Hill Academy (#1 Overall)

Williams transfers to Oak Hill where he looks like he's going to start on the EYSL after being one of the top freshmen in Chicago last year at Whitney Young, and he's considered by many as one of the top sophomores in the country. He was a standout playing up on the Nike E16 Circuit with Meanstreets, and in their preseason games he was very impressive as their youngest player but has also been one of their more productive players as well. At 6'5” he's likely still growing and already has a great frame, he's a big time athlete who can play above the rim, he shoots it very well from deep and he can create for himself and others off the bounce.
