On the heels of an All-State junior season, Ragland has carried that momentum into a strong start with Local Legends on the Puma circuit. He brings good positional size and the ability to handle and create offense off the dribble. A three level scorer, he can stretch the floor, attack the lane, and finish effectively. An above average athlete, Ragland also shows solid playmaking instincts and is a capable passer, adding to his versatility on the offensive end. He also is a productive rebounder from the backcourt.

Ragland checks a lot of boxes you want in a modern wing. At 6’6”, he’s got the size and length. What really stands out is how polished he is as a scorer. He’s comfortable operating at all three levels—knocking down shots, getting to his spots, and finishing over defenders without forcing things.
He plays with a calm pace. This makes him tough to speed up. He knows how to create his own look. Defensively, he’s just as impactful. His length shows up in passing lanes, and he turns those deflections into easy runout opportunities. A wing who can generate offense and disrupt it on the other end is very valuable. Ragland consistently does both.

The top-ranked junior in the area, Ragland is averaging nearly 20 points per game for Albemarle. The 6’6″ wing is an athletic scorer with excellent positional size, a quick first step, and the ability to finish above the rim. He can knock down open shots and consistently pressures defenses with his downhill attacking ability. While already highly productive, Ragland still offers significant long-term upside.

was the guy Albemarle went to in a lot of big spots this year, and he was their leading scorer. He had the game-tying bucket in the state final and had a handful of big plays in their close semis win over Riverside. Makai can play multiple positions and is a very versatile player. Makai plays as a wing a lot and can mix it up with players inside because of his size and strength. Makai is a great shooter and an athletic finisher. Makai has the build for a 2 at the next level or a wing.
