After watching Cristo play on Saturday, it looks like Coach Sample has found an ideal 6th man in this long, athletic, and speedy wing prospect. That list of assets allowed Monroe to get out in transition and finish fast breaks through contact. With opponents focused on shutting down Cristo star [player_tooltip player_id='1187931' first='Devin' last='Booker'] Monroe proved that he can also work as a spot up shooter or cut from the weakside of the floor to the hoop for a catch and lay-in. He flashed the ability to score off the dribble too. Monroe's wingspan and quickness made him a plus defender.

Morsell is one of the top 2027 lacrosse recruits in that the state, but this past Saturday he held his own on the hoops court against elite competition. This high IQ guard displayed a quick first step and crafty handles that allowed him to blow past defenders off the dribble. Once he was into the teeth of the defense, Morsell got to the rim for buckets and execute a few kick-out passes too. Morsell also proved that he owns an accurate jump shot with range beyond the arc. Morsell's patience and court vision produced a host of timely assists to teammates.

It is amazing how a prospect's recruiting stock can skyrocket when he ascends to the No. 1 option at a high-profile program. On Saturday, Russell was the primary ball handler and centerpiece of Ryan's offense. This senior displayed the ability to get buckets in variety of ways. He knocked home threes off the dribble as well as trail and spot up threes. His deep range and quick release are impressive. Russell also scored on straight line drives to the rack where he muscled his way through contact. He pushed the fast break for scores and assists too. Plus, this athletic combo guard directed Ryan's half-court sets and then delivered precise dimes to teammates. Russell already holds one or two DI offers, but as the 2024-25 season progresses, we believe a steady stream of offers should come in.

On Saturday Williams (formerly of Sankofa Freedom Academy) appeared to be fitting in nicely with his new squad. Williams' versatile skill set enabled him to thrive in the open court as a distributor and scorer. A number of those fast break opportunities were created because Williams had picked an opponent's pocket or sliced through a passing lane for a steal. Williams also relentlessly attacked opposing defenses off the dribble in the half-court too. Once he got into the lane, Williams scored through contact, kicked out to open shooters and dropped dimes to baseline cutters.
