In the game I watched, Kalem grabbed double digit boards and scored a lot of baskets on hustle plays and offensive rebounds. He's the kind of player who does what's necessary to help his squad win games. A very athletic player who runs the floor and never seems to tire. Kalem's an excellent shot blocker who turned back opposing players trying to attack the paint on numerous occasions. He was really good at clogging up the lane, while making scoring difficult for the opposition. I saw him block a number of shots using good footwork and excellent timing. Kalem also showed the ability of running the floor and finishing in transition. He did this a number of times and scored the ball regardless of physical contact from opposing players. Occasionally, he was able to knock down shots from the perimeter.. but scoring in the paint is more of a strength to his game. I'm curious to see how his game matures as he continues to grow and age. As long as he keeps the same tenacity he has now.. Kalem will be a top notch player in the future.

Wyatt showed the ability of being a well rounded player in the game I watched Saturday. Excellent rebounding forward who constantly stayed on the attack, both offensively and defensively. He had no problems going in the paint and fighting for rebounds despite taller players who patrolled the painted area. He also showed good ball handling ability by pushing the ball up court and making plays for himself or teammates. In isolated situations Wyatt showed the ability to drive past defenders and score at the rim. These dribble drive attacks often lead to easy baskets for himself or nice passes along the perimeter to open teammates. He was really good at knocking down shots from the perimeter by finding ways to clear up space for open looks at the basket. He either used teammate screens or various dribble moves to free himself. Wyatt shocked me when he stepped outside the arc and knocked down a three!! His game seemed to be so perimeter oriented.. I never envisioned him as a shooter from behind the three point line. This is why I say " he's a well rounded player. " A really good defensive player who forced a lot of steals, which lead to transition opportunities for his teammates. Wyatt definitely has all the skills needed to continue progressing in the game of basketball.

A tough rugged player who plays with aggression on both ends of the floor. Logan plays with a lot of physicality in the paint. He was able to use his size and take advantage of smaller players attempting to guard him. I saw him score at least five baskets in the paint. (sometimes through contact) Logan converted on multiple three point play opportunities after being fouled and converting free throws. A excellent rebounding big man who was a beast on the boards! I'm pretty sure this young man had a double- double in the game I watched on Saturday. Most of his damage was done on the defensive side in regards to grabbing rebounds. Logan also showed the ability of being a good shooter from mid-range. He knocked down a number of contested shots on the perimeter. I was pleasantly surprised with Logan defensively. I saw him force about five turnovers by being really good at playing passing lanes. About three of those steals lead to him finishing layups in transition. He showed excellent timing and anticipation when he forced those turnovers. Attacking the paint was really tough for opposing players as Logan patrolled the paint and made scoring difficult for the opposition. He's an excellent player who has a bright future as he continues his basketball journey.

Jack is an excellent jump-shooter! He shoots the basketball with great form and ball rotation. Most of the baskets he scored were via the jump-shot. He really showed the capability of shooting three pointers with confidence and fluidity. Jack can also put the ball on the floor and make things happen for himself or teammates. Shooting the ball from mid-range proved not to be an issue for him also. I saw him knock down multiple shots from in or outside the key. A really good ball handler who can create off the dribble and dish off assists to players for easy shots at the basket. If he needs to attack the glass and grab rebounds, Jack had no problems going in the paint and fighting for them. Defensively, Jack's an excellent on ball defender who put a lot of pressure on opposing players. This pressure forced a number of steals, which often lead to transition scoring for himself or his teammates. This young man will be valuable for any team he plays for because of the valuable skill of shooting that puts him ahead of most boys his age. Keep shooting Jack!!

Trey proved to be an excellent shooter in the game I saw over the weekend. This young man is very capable of catching fire and knocking down shots from long or mid-range. He also showed the ability of creating his own shots off the dribble with side steps and mid-range pull-ups. In isolation situations, he showed the ability to drive the ball to the basket for easy scores. He's a very skilled player on the offensive side of the ball. Trey's a really good defender who can stay with opposing players by applying constant pressure. This often lead to opposing players turning the ball over at a high rate. I saw him use his quick hands to poke the ball away from the opposition multiple times. Trey had no issues fighting through screens and disrupting the offensive players' shots. After watching him play, Trey is the kind of player who lets the game come to him. He plays at his own pace, communicates with his team on both sides of the ball and keeps a cool head out on the court. Keep working Trey!!

These young wing players showed up and showed out on Saturday!! They were all worthy of having their skills talked about in a Prep Hoops Next article.
