About Lieurance: Few players in the state are capable of getting as scorching hot as Lieurance, as he showcased on multiple occasions last season, including dropping 47 points against Wilton. He's one of the best pure shooters in the state, with a quick, high release on his jumper, and he doesn't force anything. He has really improved as a playmaker and shot creator off the dribble over the last 12 months, which will only make him an even more dynamic offensive weapon.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: His ability to score in bunches will garner some attention, and Cascade looks like a real contender in what figures to be a loaded Class 2A. If he can help the Cougars not only reach the state tournament, but make a significant run in Des Moines, he could be someone who picks up some momentum late in the season.
