Though it was in a losing effort, Tyler shook defenders all evening with his hesitation dribble, and he snapped off plenty of perimeter shots after creating separation from the opponent. Tyler had six three-point baskets en route to his 35 points, one shy of his career best. Tyler, a three-year starter for coach Aaron Spiering, was the Pioneers most consistent offensive option throughout the contest.

EMERGING PLAYERS

Ezra and his twin brother, Caleb, make positive things happen when they are on the floor. Ezra is very good vertically, handles it well and can hit from outside the arc and off the bounce. He generally plays the wing, but his athleticism allows him to guard taller players close to the basket. Ezra took mid-range jumper with confidence, made his foul shots and was a solid presence on defense throughout the game. He finished with 18 points.

Miller is shot ready and has a quick release from the perimeter. He is a solid player in other aspects of the game, but his biggest attribute, without question, is his long-distance shooting. He got on a roll in the second half against Juneau and had five three-point baskets on the way to scoring 18 points. Miller's accurate touch from deep makes it difficult for opponents to leave him unguarded. That in turn, opens things up in the middle of the floor for the Liggon brothers and [player_tooltip player_id='2524092' first='Abe' last='Dykstra'], among others.

With University of Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard watching from the front row along with Badger assistant Shariff Chambliss, Johnson had some pressure on him during his first game as a sophomore. Ranked No. 1 among class of 2027 prospects in the state and owning multiple NCAA Division I offers, including Wisconsin, Johnson battled foul issues for most of the game, but the smooth 6-foot-5 guard still managed to score 24 points. He displayed a soft shooting touch from the perimeter, but he also was steady and productive off the bounce. Like all players his age, Johnson needs to add some weight and strength, and develop a tough mindset, but his future is exceptionally bright and is worthy of the scholarship offers he has received.

Liggon had the ball in his hands a lot on offense, and he showed the ability to run a team while also guarding the opponent's best perimeter players. His length, size, athleticism, decision making and shot making were all impressive during the Spartans' convincing victory. Also a standout baseball prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1561947' first='Caleb' last='Liggon']'s versatility and headiness helped Madison Memorial hold off any potential comeback attempts by Milwaukee Juneau.
